Hi all. I am a sphynx newbie, my little guy was born on 5/17 so I have a long wait ahead of me before he comes home. Any advice on what I might need to buy before I bring him home would be awesome and any other advice in general! There is a picture of him in my album.

You can never go wrong with blankets. They are obsessed and I recently got a water fountain for my boys which is working out well. In the winter heating pads are great for keeping warm. Some people dress their sphynx. I don't dress mine but for some it helps with the sun and also keeping warm. Mine won't have it and I don't mind. They need a spot where they can be up high looking down so a shelf somewhere would be good or a nice high cat tree. Depending where you live bird feeders are like TV to them and can keep stimulated for hours and don't forget their wash and enough q-tips and ear cleaner like Epi-otic or whatever good cleaner you can find to help reduce ear cleaning time. Sharp nail clippers and stimulating toys. Have fun shopping for your little one. You can bombard us with pics whenever you want. We go crazy over kitten and ANY pics in general :Wink2:

Slight change in plans, Xavier turned out to be a female! So I am now getting a male from the litter born 5/6, he is a seal point and holy cow he is adorable!

I'm a newbie here too! But everyone is SO friendly and SO helpful. I know what you mean with the wait, I'm getting my girl in August. She was born April 4th. (she's a Cornish Rex.. Though she's not a sphynx, the Lairians on here have still been VERY welcoming to me lol). Hopefully the wait goes by fast for us! :ThumbsUp:

Hi and welcome, I'm new here too and also a first time sphynx owner. I have been welcomed here with open arms, everyone is very kind and helpful. My advice would be the same as Graddydani's, blankets, blankets, blankets. Also, rubber chew toys and cat teasers have been my saving grace lately. My little one is 17 weeks and teething. They are alot of work, but you get so much fun and love back from them, much better than a "normal" cat, like little monkeys in cat suits!

The stockpile has begun :) Everytime I go to the store to get supplies for my other cats I see something I think he needs!

I've been searching the clearance fabric rack at Hobby Lobby for scraps of fleece and minky to make him lots of soft blankets. I'll have to look in to getting some of the rubber chew toys. My current kitties already have a basket full of toys...so I'll just have to get a second basket :)
