Lucy is acting like she is starving. I feed her allot of her bland wet food, but we had to put the dry up for now while she is on her bland diet. She jumps on the counters and eats anything she can get her paws on. We have to make sure everything is put away or she will get into it and eat it. The other night she opened the cookie box, and it is not easy to open and we caught her with her head in it. If we eat a snack on the couch she tries to snatch it. We have to put her in our room when we eat dinner she jumps on the table every second she can. LOL She is just a little pig. Well I went into the vet today to get some more wet food, she goes in on Monday to be rechecked. I asked how much I was suppose to feed her and she said 3/4 a can two times a day. That is what I am giving her. So then I asked if they had dry food I could give her on her diet and they gave me a sample so I gave a little to Lucy and she ate it so fast I don't even think she tasted or chewed it. Is this normal?

yep, our Hairy does this, he lives for Food, he would overeat if we would not monitor it. He just loves FOOD ! But they do have such a higher Metabolism and the kibble is like crack to them i think. I think i read that before ...
You should see Hairy sometimes , he snatched an Omlette out of my Plate once... and Ran !! Yep the whole omlette !

Yes...you are not alone. Before we even got her the breeder warned me she was a piggy! She loves wet and dry and scarfs it up so fast.

I think so. Dexter is on a bit of a diet too. He was getting on the higher end of the weight range for his age...so we had to cut down a bit, and now he meows constantly when I'm in the kitchen. You'd think we were starving him. Our vet said that his weight issue might also be because he was still on the kitten food ...now we're doing half kitten & half adult mix (to use up the left over kitten food). He's lost weight and is where he's supposed to be-he still begs, and just recently discovered that he could get on the kitchen counters...luckily he's only done it a few times, and lately hasn't at all. Good luck with Lucy!!!!!!

Thank Goodness. She has always been a little piggy but the past week she is eating like she has never seen food. Here is a picture of her looking over the bar into our kitchen, she is trying to be sneaky, when I turn my back to her she jumps up on the counter and then I turn around and say NO NO and she jumps down and hides again like I cant see her little eyes peaking over. lol

Akasha will run down the hallway yowling at me! She eats taste of the wild dry food she eats twice a day just like my Siamese Tsume. She jumps on and off counters and tries to break into cabinets. She tries to steal the dog's food when I dish it up... she is a piggy and is at a healthy weight definitely not under weight OR under fed LOL!

I think that vets don't take into consideration that the sphynx need to eat more than other cats.

That sounds like my Luci, all you have to do is open the cabinet and she runs from where ever she is just to see if she can have some. They are little piggies

Had the "Jaws" theme song go through my head upon viewing this picture!

We had a bunch of people over one night, and when we were settled in the dining room, my husband went into the kitchen for something - well he saw Clementine running off the counter and to the corner of the living room. Upon investigating, she was taking crackers AND cheese and stashing them. Didnt eat it, but was piling it up in a corner to eat "later". He brings in this bowl full of cheese and cracker, and says "Here's what the cat stole". It was hilarious.

I left one of those rotissierie (SP?) chickens on the counter one time.... Heard a BOOM & ran downstairs... I wish I caught it on video because the darn chicken was bigger than Starla but there she was dragging it around the kitchen floor! Growling at me for trying to take it away!!!!!

I'm sorry ... but I was laughing out loud when I just read that. My mind always works in "pictures" (nobody telling me a story ever has to ask me to "picture this"), so I pictured that whole scenario and bursted out laughing.:LOL::LOL:

Starla is only about 6lbs NOW so back then she couldn't have been more than 4, dragging this rotisserie chicken around by a leg. LOL. I wish I had a camera on her at that point.

I was warned before I adopted Nym that she's a little trash compactor.

Also, I've read that sphynx have a higher metabolism due to their baldness.

I tossed it LOL.

What a shame. :Surprise:

I have no problem drinking from my cup that my pets put their faces in and helped themselves.

I have no problem eating my food that my pets put their faces in and helped themselves either. As a matter of fact, years ago I had a cat that loved my Carvel soft serve vanilla ice cream with caramel on top so much that when I sat and ate it, I'd be like, "One for you. One for me!"...and I'd willlingly offer it to her because she enjoyed it as much as I did. LOL

But I think it's totally different if my food (such as a rotisserie chicken) was dragged across my floor! Haha! I probably would have thought about cutting up the chicken and adding it to my pets' food bowls along with their own pet food each day until it was used up.

I also would have quickly considered rinsing it off under running water and then eating it, BUT THAT IDEA WOULD HAVE BEEN SQUASHED quickly. Hehe!

Doesn't really bother me when they stick their faces in my plate but the whole dropping on the floor thing is what got me. At the time I was working on my kitchen, had a lot of sawdust, etc. So it was a no go. LOL

Even if there was no sawdust, I don't like eating something that dropped on a floor (knowingly dropped on a floor). LOL

I have the three cats in my room for a few days now and the dogs are in another room as well because I'm eating dust again as we are having some minor repairs done here.
