Did they do a PCR test? If not, I would highly recommend as it should give n affirmative answer as to what you are dealing with. Also, what antibiotics did they prescribe. Doxycycline is one that covers a wider spectrum than many antibiotics. @Rebecca Royal I am sure you are very stressed. Know we will gladly give extra emotional support as you update us.

im not sure? they said they are try to figure out what will work. i took in 4 fosters i could not fix and did not know who was fixed and who was not so i ended up with a litter and all the babies had problems. it was a active court case so i had to just take care of them. The case is over not and i ended up with 9 and got custody of all and adopted out the healthy ones and keep all the ones with problems .... two litter later 8 kitten and of the 8 only 3 lived this is a picture of a few hour old kitten that dyed

@Rebecca Royal , thank you for attaching the reports. I tagged @Catzzzmeow .

also, is Willie eating and drinking good?
I had to use /add smelly wet food when my girl had an upper respiratory infection and was stuffed up .
*did vet mention if it would be beneficial to try an infant nasal aspirator (those little bulbs squeeze nasal aspirators) to get gunk out?

@Rebecca Royal , I see the notes today 2/9/24 mentioning 21day culture and the prescription today. sweet Willie has been through alot.
,
I saw in the records o list of "susceptible" and doxycycline antibiotic is on the list. I personally would ask for the doxycycline if the current antibiotic does not bring relief/healing.

Doxycycline has been used by many in group on sphynx when others have not worked. *** I have used goodrx at CVS and walmart checking prices on the doxycycline. my vet was out of doxycline and gave me a written rx for it , I checked prices on goodrx. I have also checked chewy pharmacy . my vet always approves where I request fax approval. the pharmacist at the grocery store here used amazon pharmacy for his sick cat last month. sharing because I know all to well with my crew of adoptees, sphynx, bengal, pups the bills add up. I try to save where I can and my vet is very supportive. she even gave me a longer carecredit promo time period.

I know personally the culture sent out can take some time ( I see the 21 day). From me experience with culture sent out, vet called me back after the wait on the culture and it identified what it was positive for and which antibiotic recommended.

oh my heart, looking at all the notes, you and Willie going through soo much. my first little girl (yoda girl avatar pic) was sick from day one , i know it can be exhausting, and you also have his sisters hip infection, please feel free to share her own thread . broke my heart when I looked at xray and saw where infection ate away ball socket . would like to follow her progress on her own thread if you would like to share.

please remember self care, I know personally I felt like a walking zombie.. you need to take care of yourself too.
