Swallowing air while eating

I've noticed that when I feed my meow she eats her food so fast she gulps a lot swallowing air. I recently had to take her to the ER and X-rays showed she had a lot of air in her colon. Any suggestions?

@badtwin14 Is it only wet or dry food or both? Google "slow feed cat bowls." There are some in plastic and stainless (stainless helps keep pimples down) It is something that might help. The bowl has bumps or grooves in it so the cat has to work to get at the food naturally making them eat slower. Hope that helps. I am sure that had to have been scary.

Fuzzy dose this as if he hasn't eaten in weeks. watch out for the air coming out the other end!! I have found he only dose this when he gets wet food so I cut his portions smaller but more frequent during the day.

Thank you guys! I'll try the bowl for sure! I feed her dry food and ya she farts a lot but that's normal for her. Thank you for the suggestion!

Just to follow up, I bought a bowl and used it for the first time today. It definitely slowed her role!!! Let's see when I use it going forward how her gulping goes!
