Hi all,
I apologize for the lack of intro post, but I created my account with haste. We recently got another hairless cat (we have 4 others aside from him) for my sister this past November, and he is developing these red swollen bumps on his face, neck, and some random ones here and there on his back. I would see similar red spots on his body before, but they went away. I was looking through the thread on Urticaria Pigmentosa, but so many kitties had different looking issues, I honestly didn't know what was Urticaria and what wasn't. My sister's cat before (Micah Bella aka Baby Meeks) had just passed from HCM complications June 2021. The last thing I want for my sis and our new kitty is to suffer.
His demeanor doesn't seem any different (regular old hyper 4 month old little guy) but it seems like the spots do itch him a bit. He is not trying to itch them that much and none of these spots have opened at all. The worst ones are by the inside fronts of his ears.
He is on raw food that we get from our breeder, and he has gotten into our grown cats' Blue Buffalo (orange bag) a few times, but we've since kept it out of his reach in the event of a food allergy. I'm sorry but at the moment I'm not sure what's in either.
We got our first Sphynx when I was 5, and we've had them ever since (I'm 21 now) and we've never had a skin issue on any of our cats like this. He was at the Vet last night, they've put him on Benedryl and I believe they put him on steroids as well. If any of you have experienced something similar or have any good advice, please reach out.
Thank you all
