Tail rash

Hi! My kitten has had an interesting looking rash on his tail since I got him around a month and a half ago. I've asked the vet and she said it isn't ring worm but she's not sure what it is. It doesn't seem to bother him. I was wondering if anyone here could identify it. Thanks!

Which isn't ringworm, thankfully. If you are concerned, it is very easy to have a skin scraping done at the vet.

That does look very similar! My vet is having me put an antibacterial solution on it that we have been using for an ear infection. Thank you!
