The end of an era.

Just a few short weeks ago I posted that I lost my dear sphynx friend Mo. Barely coping with the grief and today I said goodbye to Lola the Bengal, Mo's little sole mate. She died of kidney failure, her health has been gradually declining for a long time, but over the last few weeks she became extremely poorly. I feel that partly she died of a broken heart.

Now at least they can be together again, god rest their little soles bound together. I will miss them both so very much.

I am so sorry to hear of your second loss in such a short time. They are playing pain free on the other side of the rainbow bridge. We lost our very first 2 DSHs within a couple of months of each other. The 2 were inseparable and I took solace in thinking they were again together. You know we are here for you. RIP sweet Lola.

@Catzzzmeow I think you are right, it does make it that little bit more bearable to think of them together again. It's been many years since I've had no cats to come home to. It feels very strange and surreal. xx

When the vet gave her the sedation to put her sleep she began running with her paws, I imagined she had caught sight of Mo and was running towards him. :cat:

Big sigh. If and when the time feels right, you can begin your journey for a baby. You are going to feel like a newbie all over again. Our Bengal is 19 and about 5 months ago he was diagnosed with the start of kidney disease and on meds. We see the changes. Although we know, we will never be ready when the time comes. Take your time and let your heart heal. Don't think of your home as empty, but rather think your heart is just preparing to open up again when the time is right.

I am so so so very sorry for your loss. I sniffled a lot at the running paws, and I must agree with you; Mo and Lola are now frolicking together. Oh, Sam! Honey, I am so sorry to hear this awful news...I was crying already, but the tears turned to sobs when I read about the running. I pray that Lola did catch sight of her Mo and was running to meet him, so she could pass from your loving care to the love she shared with him. And I agree that it does make it easier on the heartache of losing her, knowing that for Lola there is no more pain, no more suffering. Rest in peace, sweet Lola...kiss Mo for us all. You were loved...and that is everything.
