hi, my user name is barnabus .first of all, we only have internet at the librairy, so my story may get cut off. also i can not send you photos of our babies. i decided we needed a sphynx cat for our autistic teen, because he says the sound of purring relaxes him & helps him sleep. regular cats do not always stay in bed all night, and they do not all stay under the covers. we searched the internet at the librairy whenever we could, and untill we got headaches. finally we decided on a former stud named ace , from Ok.. DO NOT ever get your sphynx sight unseen like we did. he shipped to us , so skinny i think he was starving. also i was told his front feet were declawed. well , that is not all he was missing. he has only 2 toes on his front feet. evidently when they declawed him he got his toes infected so badly that he had to get his toes removed. we named him jarlaxle. i guess being a stud made him a ladies man ONLY !!! he would hiss and growl when we tried to get him to sleep with our son. he just wanted to sleep with me. at first he hated all of us. he would jump on my lap and rub on my face like he was ready to purr .instead he would growl while rubbing on me, and then he hissed right in my face and showed his fangs. we called him snake bite the first couple weeks . the fangs reminded me of a cobra's fangs. he had diariah. we spent as much or more on vet bills as the cat. he is still independant. he growls if we pick him up. HE has to come to us.even if he comes to me and i pick him up ,he gets mad and jumps down then walks across the room , turns back , then gets on my lap himself.it is like dr.jekle and mr. hide except jarlaxle is the nice guy at night. ( to me !!! Not to our son.) he sleepps with me all night , right in my arm pit, and lays his head on my shouldar. my husband always grimbles that cat is in his territory. the cat loves me so much, he often smacks my husband when he snuggles by me ,or smacks other pets when they are on my lap. so, now we had to re search for a sphynx for our son. we found a 9 month old kitten in michigan. our son named him froggy because my husband says when sphynx purr they sound like frogs croaking, and froggy purrs a LOT !!!! froggy is much nicer than jarlaxle. froggy sleeps with our son. froggy lets us pick him up. froggy is NICE to everyone in the family. froggy does have ONE problem. froggy always has lots of gas. he farts so often his middle name is stink bomb. my son wants to leave the librairy now, so i will end my story by saying that meanie jarlaxle is my favorite because,he chose ME to love. my bed has never been so warm as when he cuddles in it. i get cold easy ,so i appreciate this. i also appreciate when the independant snot finds my lap, or taps at my bathrobe (while i am wearing it ) to be let inside it. i really feel loved when i have BOTH sphynx cuddling in my robe or under a blanket with me.sphynx cats are love. from barnabus
