Does anyone else watch this show? OMGosh DH tried to get me to start watching it during season 1 when he started watching and I was not having any of it. Revenge was my show and I didn't want to watch so many shows at one time. It's now on season 3 and I just started watching several months ago. It is one of the best shows EVER! Well that I've ever seen anyway and even better then Revenge. Had to do a marathon to catch up. Haha! Okay this is the only post im posting spoiler free. LOL!

Yes I watch it along with a few others. I like it a lot but I like Game of Thrones, Law and Order:SVU, Chicago Fire better.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the walking dead. My hubby used to own a comic book and gaming store. (yes, we are super geeks) And I read the comic and loved it. I'm so glad that they did a good job with the tv series but made it different. I read the first book and it is very good. Checked it out from the library.

My mom got me into dowtown abbey so I am hooked. I also never miss Castle, Dr Who, Clone Wars and Bones. We also gutted out the first part of Arrow and the season is getting better. Oh Grimm, I forgot Grimm. I love Oziad and Fairtale stuff with a dark twist.

SPOILER ALERT SEASON 2 SPOILER ALERT... if you don't want to know before you see it ignore this post

I just got all caught up this past week, and can't wait for the rest of the season to begin again. But really I'm still surprised we lost Shane. He was like a main character and now the show's so different but still REALLY good. I'd have to say even though he turned into a nut case he was my favorite character because I don't think that's who he was as a person but something the survival life style turned him into. Who are you guy's favorite character?

We love The Walking Dead here too! But we're total zombie freaks. I still need to watch the last two episodes of the last season, tho. They took AMC off our channel line-up near the end of last season.

Love the show! But I hate the halfway season "finales" (just like Breaking Bad). Almost time to start again
My favourite character.... Hmmm.... I think maybe Glen; I like how he handles things.

My husband has watched and loved the show from the beginning. I wasn't interested in the least. I'm more of a vampire gal :Wink2:. Fast forward to Christmas when I got him the first two seasons on DVD as gifts and I came down with a stomach bug that landed me in bed for 4 days straight. I was desperate for something to watch and decided to give the show a shot. I am officially hooked now. I was even able to catch up and see all of season 3 that's aired so far thanks to the on-demand channel. The only thing I'm having a problem with is that I tend to get very attached to characters and the fact that the writers don't hesitate to kill off anyone on this show drives me crazy. I even yelled at my husband for not telling me this and his answer was "that's the reality of the zombie apocalypse," as if he's had experience with this..lol. All I can say is when/if Darryl bites the dust I'm going to be very upset. He's my favorite.

Not to change the subject of the thread, but do you watch Once Upon a Time? It's really good and fits with the dark fairytale theme.

Yeah know I started the first season of Once Upon a Time and it just didn't hook me but I have heard that it has gotten much better so I might give it a 2nd chance.

Yeah another Daryl fan! He is my fave and not in the comics. I really like the Meryl/Daryl dynamic.
I really like that they kill off characters. It keeps it fresh. Hahaha if you can keep zombies fresh.

 My hubs talks this way to. He likes the show but also looks at it as a what if scenario... like he's taking pointers from the show. LOL! His favorite character is Daryl too. I'm kinda wondering where his loyalty is going to lie in the next few episodes.... besides that Daryl is awesome!

My husband and I watched some of the first season and didn't really get into it. The only shows we "have" to watch each week is Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory.

Yes, I'm worried about where Daryl's story line is going to go. I really dislike Merle (I suppose that's what the writers want), so I hope he either gets killed off, or stays separate from Daryl so that he can't negatively influence him. Killing Merle off seems too easy though, so I'm sure he'll stick around and cause friction and turmoil wherever he ends up.

That's what I was thinking too. It would be too easy to just kill Meryl off. Have you seen the preview for the next episode? I'm thinking he'll probably go back with the Atlanta group (maybe) but then that would be trouble in itself. I don't like Meryl and Andrea either. Her loyalty is to sketchy and she's selfish.

He's too GOOD of a bad guy to just kill him off, lol.
I hope they keep him around a bit.

Yes, I agree that he is too good of a bad guy.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Are any of you surprised they killed Laurie off already?
She doesn't die in the comics until much later and I was really surprised that they killed her off so soon.

ALERT OVER

Yes yes!!! OMGosh YES!! lol I think it was the 2nd time the show made me cry. I did not think she would die. You kinda get used to minor characters being killed off but Laurie? Completely unexpected for me.

SPOILER SEASON 3 SPOILER AHEAD

And then for Rick to go looking for her and to only find the zombie who ate her was just heartbreaking.

Yeah, I'm not an Andrea fan either. She's always so busy trying to prove that she can be tough that she's a liability to the group. I wouldn't mind if her and Merle both ended up as zombie chow.

I'm resurrecting this thread to see how all of you are enjoying the second half of season 3 so far. For the most part I'm happy with it. I did find a few of the episodes to be a bit slow (get off the ledge Rick, I'm tired of watching you chase your dead wife around) and while I liked the latest episode, I was disappointed because I didn't get my Daryl fix (boy do I love Norman Reedus). I am looking forward to the big showdown that is inevitably on its way.

In between watching the show, I decided to read the Walking Dead novels - Rise of the Governor and The Road to Woodbury - and they were pretty good. I especially liked finding out the Governor's back story and how he came to be the person he is today. In the next book, which is coming out in October, Robert Kirkman has said that characters like Rick and Michonne from the comic books and the TV show are going to start appearing. With the exception of the Governor, all the other characters in the first two novels have been new. I'm entertained by the books so far, so I'm going to continue to read them and see where they go.

It's not really my type of show... That being said, when we had the blizzard out here in CT a few weeks ago, a marathon was on & I was home (Obviously) So I watched the entire season 2 & of COURSE I got hooked on the story line. So yes I faithfully watch it & watched the entire season 1 (so I could catch up) on Netflix.
It still creeps me out but I'm totally caught up in the story now.

It is good to know that the 2nd book The Road To Woodbury is good. I read the first one and enjoyed the zombie goodness.
I really liked the change of pace that the last episode had. Was a really good look into Carl and Michone.
But, I agree with above statement about Rick getting his head screwed back on. But, hopefully after reuniting with Morgan this past week and seeing how he could have wound up I am hoping it will snap Rick back into it.
Looking forward to the big showdown also. I wonder what is going to happen to Andrea. She makes the WORST decisions. There is no way after seeing the fish bowl heads and his zombie daughter pet would I EVER be alone with him again.
