So we are back. Surgical consult, xray and echo Wednesday 4. The gabapentin this morning kept Foxy sunning herself in the window with Toni which made it feel like I had taken it myself. Internist agrees, it’s an ugly cyst and something has to be done about it. Yoda Mom, for sure you know this rollercoaster from the devil….it is a month and a half since Biscuit’s fateful internist appointment. Thanks all for your prayers to hang onto.

On our way home. Felt a lump on her neck. Took slide of ear cyst but she didn't let her take cells from what she thought was lymph node. Has slight murmur from anemia. Chest xray was clear. Cleared for surgery Saturday morning. She will have to stay over for safety until Sunday. Going with a friend to show Saturday afternoon for her birthday Can tell her none of this.

Thanks everyone. Foxy upped the ante by managing to loosen the scan with her cone which the surgeon liked today. Then she managed to tumble off the window sill she has been sunning herself oin. for days with Toni. Toni freaked. I was terrorized. I hate to think it but tomorrow is my day in the office and maybe s crate needs to come upstairs. I sure do feel sick enough to take a full sick day and only watch her.

Ah, she had the op late in the afternoon. They removed the large ulcerated cyst and the swollen lymph node below it in her neck. There were some other nodules behind her ear and they removed the one that was the size of a pencil eraser. They are concerned but will reserve decisions on further surgery or other treatment until the pathology comes back in a week to two. She tolerated everything well and was coming out of anesthesia as she spoke to us. We just had a comfort call with the hospital and they are very pleased. Foxy ate all of her dinner. We will pick her up tomorrow at 10 am. Toni has been very clingy and luckily she had her dad with her while her awful mom fulfilled a many monthslong plan to go out with a friend.

Besides stepping on poor Toni’s tail in the dark and needing a new bottle of 1000 Bayer aspirin and finding out they only make 100, we are on the road. They said she was the usual post operative crabby but her incisions look clean and dry but it is our job to watch for infections. They are hoping she is willing to take the antibiotic that smells like bananas (!).

I think we are coming along. Ate everything. Went into the window for a sunning. Used arm chair as a slide down. Cheek a little swollen. All the vets called before I saw the cheek. I’m boiling, cant tell if it’s stress or the heat. It’s 77 degrees here!!! Hubby will be home in a bit and will help judge extent of the swelling or worried wife.
