I guess my life has spiraled into lame territory when I'm writing about how to dispose of cat litter but anyway....

I bought one of these bins from Amazon (the middle sized one) and it's worked well to the point I figured I'd put in a positive word for it. What I like about this bin is that it's the perfect size for bathroom trash bags ( the 4 gallon size) which are cheap to buy. Also, since the bin has a lid it keeps the smell inside. You can put a carbon filter or a box of baking soda in the bottom to make it even better.

To be clear, I put scoopings out in the trash EVERY night anyway but just in that 24 hour window 2 cats can pee quite a lot. I never got the Litter Genie concept because why would I want to keep used litter for a month? I wanted something that would be effective, inconspicuous and cheap...this did the trick.

@Condo commando , thanks for sharing !

I have the small amd Large stainless trash bins that have a removable insert
I fill /store the large stainless with 40lbs of litter
I keep a scooper Im it it to freshen after scooping

I use black bags bought in bulk from Sam's to scoop amd put in the small comtainer and empty daily into outside trash

I keep both in the garage

Lol what we don't do for poo patrol lol

@Yoda mom - I must have missed something...wouldn't you need to have a litter box inside the house?

I've thought about adding a big bin to keep new litter, but since my litter comes in 20 pound bags, I just keep it in a closet and carry it around to the litter boxes when they need to be topped off. The day will come when I won't want to carry it and for when that is I'm thinking something like this:

That bin actually comes in different colors for example this one (made by a Dutch company, so maybe I can get @Toa and Ross to visit and bring me one LOL)

@Condo commando , yes
I use the good pet stuff litter boxes thst look like planters and the
Catit jumbo that has a kid that folds bsck for easy scooping :) I take off the door flap

I use the stainless trash bins for storing litter amd the small ome for scooped bags till I open the garage door to take out to trash right after scooping

Off topic tidbits-
I don't buy enough groceries for scoop bags so I buy the t shirt bags in black sold at samsclub for $14 for 1000 lol free shipping for samsclub plus members
The plus membership also saves me big time for pet meds
Yodas meds were $90 at vet ,$60 for regular Sam's membership but with plus membership they were $30
These are the same bags I use for rottie n Aussie pooper scooping on walks

Way cheaper and just as good as the expensive pooper bags I ised to buy lol for $40 per 1000
