Two Pound Terror!

Starla is a total nut job & I love it... She's so playful she even wakes up a few times a night to play.. She's so cute I can't stand it! Butttttttttttttttttttt the other night, I went upstairs to use the bathroom. Well here I am on the pot (TMI I know but everybody does it) and all of a sudden I hear a frantic running up the steps, 2 seconds later there's a cat covered in red on my lap- I freaked out, I thought it was blood!!!!!!!!! OMG I was freaking out until I realized that it was spaghetti sauce!!!!!!!!!!!!! This little brat jumped up on the counter & must have fell into the container (tupperware) of sauce! She was freaking covered in it!!!!! Who would've thought a 2 pound kitten could make that much of a mess! Oh my goodness!!! SMH. Talk about a heart attack LOL! Needless to say she had a bath & I spent the rest of my night cleaning my carpet, stairs, & kitchen! Thought you guys would get a chuckle outta this. While I'm here though, she has been scratching at my upholstered headboard & I just can't have that (I don't even fully own that furniture yet)
Any advice?

Haha my boy did that the day after he got here... lol was enthrall with the water and next minute fell in I have never seen him move that fast .. and he is fast normally lol... I thought I was going to choke to death laughing lol

This is such a funny story, I don't think I'm going to be able to get one to top that! As for advice, all I can really say is to make sure to immediately stop her from scratching your furniture and redirect her to the scratching post and she should catch on pretty quickly.. otherwise there's some spray you can buy (idk what it's called, so just do a google search) that's supposed to stop cats from scratching whatever you sprayed it on. I've never tried it, so I can't tell you how well it works/if it works, but you might want to look into it.

She's a foodie so I'm SURE she was trying to eat my delicious spaghetti sauce LOL. Shes too cute though.
I'm going to try that scratch spray, but before I order online will check my petstore

Awww! She is a fireball!! Glad she is amusing but sorry it's at the wee hours of the morning! I think the thing used to deter them is Feliway to stop them from scratching and when you see her scratching you can use a water spray bottle or some air spray to deter her so that she knows she is not supposed to do that.

She sure is a fireball! I'm glad though because if she was mellow I would be so much more nervous thn I already am!

Nighttime is fun play time because she just chases my finger (under the sheet) while she's on top of the sheet & sometimes she does cartwheels LOL. I love the play play play crash life of a kitten! Its like all in a second that she just loses steam & playtime is over, time for a nap. LOL

So funny! Double sided tape will work on the scratching too. Leave it on for a couple weeks and then you can take it off. Our kitten came with the nail caps on and those are great too. He doesn't have any trouble getting on top of his cat tree but he can't damage the furniture.

I would recommend being careful with with play that involves your hands as toys.
What is so very cute in a 2 pound kitten (I'm prone to it myself) can be very painful when a full grown 15 pounder latches on and starts kicking with those back claws.

The imagery of the spaghetti-sauce covered kitten will stay with me for quite some time LOL!

There is some magnetic attraction between Sphynx and spaghetti sauce. Try to find the story of Fluffy from Sphynxkid (Jen). I bet you are so thankful it wasn't blood that the cleaning afterwards wasn't all that bad

Nora's drove her nuts! After about 3 weeks and 3-4 caps coming off I went to the soft paws website and read how to take them off. She is much less distracted now. They sure were nice while I was teaching her where to scratch though!

They catch you off guard don't they. What a hilarious story. I can just see it in my head. I am sure you have thought of different scratching posts and things like that. Reward her when she scratches on those. Play with her as much as you can. Mine love the feather toys attached to a string and stick. When you are tired you can use the laser pointer to wear her out. Sometimes a snug sweater will calm her. Enjoy you action packed life.
