UK Pet Insurance

I just wondered if anybody had any recommendations and/tips for reasonable priced pet insurance in the UK!

Lucifer has insurance from petplan. We haven't been able to use it yet, but I found theirs the best of the bunch. For instance, they only cater to pets and it's possible to save up all your bills for one year, thus only having to pay your own contribution once. Keep in mind that if your kitteh has had medical issues in the past, you aren't insured for that for the first six months. I looked it up, and there is a petplan UK as well (hence the usefulness of this post). Good luck with your search, it's always best to have the little demon insured, just in case.

Petplan are the only ones I would use. All the others are cheaper but don't always pay. I've never had any probs using them and they have always paid up. Nearly all vets advise petplan above the others too. Oh and I personally choice the covered for life plans. It works out to b around a tenner per cat a mouth that's with multi pet discount thou.

If you think u have a normal kitty just choose the normal covered for life. This means no matter what they will still pay year after year for the same condition. I did have the top plan for one kitten that just never seemed right and after nearly £2500 of treatment in 4 weeks and her being put down they payed and I only had payed petplan 1 monthly payment of £16 !!! I never used to believe in pet insurance and took the "if it's broke fix them method" but after haveing these little guys chances are your going to b out of pocket. I can only speak from my own experience and I'm on my forth and had various claims on all of them, so I would ring petplan they are very friendly and helpfull on the phone and they can advise u on the best plan.
