Omg I cried all the way home just now. I took Keano back to the vet because he still wasn't acting like himself. They took an x-ray and found fluid in his lungs. The vet said it is likely Congestive Heart Failure. I have made an appointment for an ultrasound for Thursday. I'm just beside myself. I can't believe this is happening.

I am so sorry to hear this.

I really hope that it is something that can be treated and that he can continue to live a happy and healthy life.

Sending prayers your way, keep us updated on how the appointment goes

::hugs::

I am so very sorry! Did they give him anything to help with the fluid in the meantime before the ultrasound? Praying for you both and do let us know how the ultrasound goes. ::HUGS::

Oh gosh, I am SO sorry. I haven’t dealt with it in cats but I’ve dealt with it more often than I’ve wanted to with our rescue dogs. I hope you get some sort of good news after the ultrasound. The only thing I can tell you is look up all of the symptoms to CHF and fluid on the lungs so you know what to look for if it happens again. Our chihuahua lived with CHF for years on enalapril. (If you’re prescribed this get it from Target’s $4 generic program to save a lot of money.) Luckily he only had to go on lasix once in those 3 or 4 years after diagnosis until the end. I think the fact that it had been controlled so well for so long had me tricked into thinking it wouldn’t progress. It does, and it progresses really rapidly in the end. I don’t say this to scare you, just to prepare you if this is what he has. I didn’t make it to the emergency clinic in time to put my dog down and I will never forgive myself. I hope no other animal ever has to suffer like that. Hopefully you won’t have to worry about that for a VERY long time though!
