Hey all! I have been MIA since starting graduate school, and right now I'm procrastinating on a paper so I'm here on the lair!

So I started Mr. Butters on Natures Variety raw bites and after a full month on that I decided to order from the "Hare Today - Gone Tomorrow" site and mix it with their supplement meant for a meat/bone/ organ grind. I started him on a course grind not realizing just how big the chunks of bone and meat are, and while it took him a week to transition, he's now a pro! He chomps down on pretty tough meat and bones and he seems satisfied longer! I'm so proud of him! He looks like a little wild beast when he's tearing apart the meat chunks hahaha

He also learned - at the advice of all of you- that he had 30 min to eat so now he gobbles down most of it. He's even doing well on the days I work 12 hours when I have to feed him at 7 am and 8 pm.

I bought Natures Variety kibble when I first started him on the raw in case it don't go so well. I haven't used it yet, but I wonder sometimes if I should leave kibble for him while I'm at work? I guess if I have a good thing going I should stick with what works?

Good luck to all the raw starters! I almost gave up and then he started eating it like he used to chow down on his carb filled kibble.

Hurray for you both! Great job. I wouldn't add the kibble. How is his weight? Muscle mass? If he is doing good, I would do exactly as you are already doing.

His weight seems perfect. He's 10, almost 11 months and around 7.5-8 pounds. He has a little belly fat but he seems to be losing that and gaining more muscle now. Just curious- is 8 ish pounds ok for 10 months?
