I know several of you are friends of @susi794 (the other moderator) here on FB and saw the following update she wrote on her wall Tuesday:

It's been awhile since I've posted a status update, so I thought I'd fire one off this afternoon. Last Sunday evening at supper, my body decided to demonstrate a new trick: swallowing food while breathing. Now these two functions aren't meant to be performed as a simultaneous duet and I managed to send a piece of the crust from the chicken pot pie hurtling into my wind pipe. A coughing jag quickly ensued, followed by a panic attack, sending me back to my room, terrified and horribly upset over what felt to me like an inability to breathe. I took some nerve Meds and went to sleep. I woke up the next morning unable to speak. It sounded like a garbled up mess. I promptly went into another panic attack as not only had I thought I'd had a stroke, but that I still couldn't breathe. Turns out my uvula (that little flap of skin that hangs down right before the food goes down). Was HUGE and partially blocking my trachea. I had X-rays and they are now treating me for aspiration pneumonia, congestive heart failure, and there is a 13mm node in the upper lobe of my right lung. I am hoping it is the pot pie crust and not a resurgence of cancer. My throat still hurts like the devil, but the doc assures me I don't have congestive heart failure, I haven't had a stroke, and that I'll have to have a CT Scan in 7-10 days.
At the moment l'm feeling a bit beat up, but blessed to still be here.
Much love to you all,
ME

Susi called me today and said things are not going well, and they are doing many more tests. They are doing more scans and tests on her heart, lungs and now kidneys. She said they fear the meds she has been on have done damage. Her leg is so swollen she cannot even put her prosthetic leg on and just to move in bed exhausts her to the point she can't breathe easily. I am very concerned. She shared they changed her meds and as you know that in and of itself causes many issues and hard to regulate. I asked her if she is ok with my sharing and asking for Lair Prayers and she said yes please do. I hope to get an update from her this weekend. I could not talk long as I could tell it was exhausting her more. So please, keep a positive thought going this very special woman's way. She was due to go home on the 9th (after being in the nursing home for over 18 months now) and this appears to be a set back not needed.

No! No! No! No!!
This breaks my heart. The last post I read of Susi she was so happy to be able to ride a car and so excited about her new house they were building. It's so not fair that something like this happens to her. @susi794 you've been through enough. Give it to me, I really wish I could take this from you so you could enjoy life.

Sending a lot of healing vibes and keeping all fingers crossed Susi will be up and around in no time again.

Patti, thank you so much for informing us about the lairians that are too sick to write themselves. A big hug for you too. Must be difficult and sad to see two of your friends not being well.

This update saddens me greatly. Our household sends love, positive vibes, healing, and of course gentle headbonks and purrs.susi is a testament to overcoming and being victorious in the end. I will focus on its for her.

Patti

Glad to hear Susi is released from the hospital. Although I will only be happy when she will feel better again. Keep on sending healing vibes to Susi.

Susi and I spoke on the phone today. They are still playing with her meds and they feel the extreme swelling in her legs might be due to one of the meds she is on. She had a similar issue when she was on the med shortly after her accident. So I am hoping they figure it out fast. She did go to her home this week to see how things are looking and she said it looks beautiful. She is hoping to go home for good next week. But until swelling and breathing are better she will remain at the nursing home.
