I just got some sad news from the vet.

Unfortunately Zoe passed away 10 minutes ago. The vet said they wasn't 100% what the problem was, but with the medication and oxygen she wasn't getting any better. She said being so young it's more difficult. They think it was pneumonia.

Very upsetting times.

RIP Zoe (also called Roo). She only had a few months on the earth but she brought great amusement and love to our family. Tiger is really going to miss her.

Thanks for the support, much appreciated.

I did have a real bad feeling she wasn't coming home. But she is no longer in pain and is in a better place from her suffering.

I feel really guilty. I went away that night and came back and all of a sudden she was ill. So sudden.

I noticed the choking sound days before, but, Tiger does it after he has ate his food so I didn't really notice anything odd. She was very active too. I just can't believe how sudden it all was :(

My heart goes to Tiger, our other Sphynx. He really loved her. They would curl up together in a ball and sleep and he'd look after her.

It's going to be strange not seeing them chasing each other around the house at 3am and clawing me to death under the sheets whilst playing with each other.

I will probably get him a new sphynx friend, but not just yet.

My heart goes out to you. I lost a kitten once, too. It's so hard when they have just been on the earth a few months and then to lose them is just so painful. Anyways, all we can do is be thankful for the time we had with them.... and I truly believe they never truly leave us. They are part of our families and lives forever. I will light a candle for dear Angel Zoe.

And poor Tiger.... While we are mourning, our dear kitties are mourning also. Give Tiger lots of cuddles and hugs, and the two of you can help each other through this.

Our lives are changed forever by the loss, but they are also changed forever by the love we shared with them. And that's what makes it all worth it. I believe we are better people today for having known them and shared that love.

So sorry to hear of Zoe's passing, I can only imagine what you are going through. Take comfort from the fact she is no longer suffering and be sure to give extra snuggles to Tiger in this time of need for the both of you. Don't beat yourself up for not reacting sooner, she was just too young to fight it off, it's not your fault!

James, I am soooo saddened to hear about Zoe. She will R.I.P. now as her suffering is finally over. She is in a better place. I send my prayers to you & your family, & just know that you're not alone during this rough time.

So sorry to hear about Zoe's passing :Cry:. You did everything in your power to help her, and for that, you should be commended. If anything is deemed as a "positive" in this matter, it's that she is not suffering anymore as I'm sure the labor of breathing, etc. was no picnic. We are sending our thoughts and prayers in this tough time for you and yours.

When you get another kitten, please don't allow anyone to sell you one so young....six weeks was way, way too young to come home with you. Give Tiger lots of extra snuggles from all of us here at the Lair. We share your sorrow and we're here if you need a shoulder to cry on.

So so sorry for your loss. I too got my kitten at 6 weeks old and he passed away 11 days later. It was also very sudden. It is so hard. You get attached so quickly. Again so sorry for the loss of ur sweet kitty.
