I am so so sorry to read this. I hate all the pain and agony that has been around the lair and sphynx community as of recently. I so hope that you are able to keep Rupert comfortable and love on him in the time he has left.

Perhaps you both needed each other. You needed him to help you through depression(which I can relate to) and he knew that. He wanted to make you smile and fill your heart with joy again. He needed you to give him a wondeful loving home and show him love in his life. I never understand why some die so young...it is not fair.

My heart is breaking for you! Its difficult enough losing a pet to an illness, but losing one that is so young, incredibly handsome and who has helped you get through your own difficulites in life is just incredibly awful. I am so very sorry that you are losing such a precious little baby. Seeing his face and reading his story makes my stomach hurt for the both of you. I can't even imagine the pain you are feeling at this moment. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you for some miracle to come your way. I know all of us on the Forum are wishing that for you and Rupert!

i am so sorry to hear about what you and your family are going through. i guess everything that can be said has been said by everyone...i hope you can finde some strength and peace thoughout this difficult time.

enjoy the time you have left with him, honor his memory of how he got you through a difficult time in your life, and help him pass on to his next life as best you can.

it won't be easy, i've been where you are, but because rupert has taught you something special, don't let that fall by the wayside. be strong, feel the emotions you are meant to feel for his passing, and then try to find something that can bring some sort of peace and happiness into your life.

my deepest sympathies go out to you and your family (naked and clothed).

I am so terribly sorry. I loved this litte boy and I never got to meet him. My heart is so heavy for you, your boy, and his brother and sister. My prayers are with you and Rupert (and Orion and Priscilla). Hugs.

Thank you everyone, your words mean a lot to me. I am hurting so unbelievably bad, I can't even look at him without crying, my heart is broken. :Cry:

The results came back from the lab yesterday confirming what both myself and the vet were dreading - FIP. I cancelled the ultrasound appointment for today. I didn't see the need in having him sedated, stressed and moved around causing more pain just to further confirm the diagnosis and what I can see with my own eyes. I have decided to put him to sleep on saturday, I want to be able to get as much time in with him as I can this week. I am taking lots of pics and am going to be making stamps of his footprints for my scrapbooking project. I would like to record him purring, but his purr is so very quiet because it's hard for him to purr even though he still tries when I touch him. :Cry:

I just don't know what I am going to do without him. Thanks again everyone for your kind words.

So very sorry that you have to go through this....but you are doing the best you can do for him...the decision is always the hardest part...but it is the right thing to do... :Cry:
