I just got my kitten from the breeder, and she has one very swollen eye ( the conjunctiva), and is sneezing a lot. Most of her litter that was vaccinated at the same time are actually sneezing, and one was in emergency with pneumonia.

I'm taking her to the vet on monday, and the breeder gave me the last of her pills (doxycyclone) that they were giving her, as well as a tube of erythromycin.
She's very energetic, and hilarious. Eating, drinking and pooping etc...

Just curious if anyone else has experienced this.
Like I said, she will being going to the vet on monday to figure out exactly whats going on. Mostly I'm just concerned if this is a vaccine reaction. This will be her second round of shots for the core vaccines....(distemper, calici, rhino..)

Just shot you a PM....but I honestly think you have a great antibiotic combo going, so try not to stress (easier said than done) Sounds like a normal URI at this point...many kittens get them from stressing. So hang in there and glad you reached out.

I agree with Patti. I wouldn't stress too much, you should see a big improvement pretty soon with those meds :)

She only has 3 more doses before its done, and it still looks wonky. But maybe the vet will give her more on monday.

How old is she? Using doxycycline in kittens has been known to cause stained adult teeth and you should always wash the pill down with some extra water as it can also cause esophageal strictures, making eating difficult. Doxy is good stuff, hopefully it will work for you and not cause any effect on your baby's adult teeth.

She's 12 weeks tomorrow. Shes only got one dosing left, and will likely get more, or different meds tomorrow.
