@Vickie F hopefully someone from MI will chime in and give you some names of vets. But in the meantime I just want to let you know that most vets don't have any or many sphynx cats as patients. What you have to do is educate yourself on certain specific things the breed is all about when it comes to veterinary medicine, such as:
NO Ketamine anesthesia for surgeries. Use ISO gas instead.
Place sphynx on a heating pad right after surgery.
Clavamox antibiotic won't hurt a sphynx, but for an URI it won't do much, there are other much better antibiotics out there that will help a sphynx ASAP with an URI. Yet, for a UTI, the Clavamox seems to be great.
Many sphynx have stomach issues, especially in the first six months or so as a kitten. Usually changing their diet to a grain-free or raw diet fixes that. 100% Pure Pumpkin added to canned food helps bulk up loose stools.
And the list goes on....
So educate yourself and find a vet that is on the same page as you. They should be open to suggestions about the breed and respect your wishes. Otherwise that vet isn't for you.

I don't know much about the Mt Pleasant area, but my veterinary cardiologist is one of the best and is located at Veterinary Cardiology Consultants (Veterinary Cardiology Consultants | Healing hearts. Improving lives.). They have locations in Ann Arbor, Rochester Hills, and Novi MI. My sphynx saw Dr. Brown and he is amazing!
