heres pics of Vladimir's tail 17 days after amputation. he seems great and doesnt appear to be in any pain! thanks for all the well wishes!

How's the stepson handling it all?
Well his Aspergers is always difficult to deal with.....he has his good and bad days! But it was his 15th bday a couple of days ago and Vlad sat on his lap under a blanket while Mikey opened his Bday presents. He has been carrying vlad around and Vlad doesnt seem to associate Mike with the tail injury, so thats good! I hope Mike wont be scarred for life over it!!
Unfortunately, vlad is still running around near doors. I think its the nice weather that is making him try to dart out! anyway, the whole family is looking behind them before closing doors now, and shutting them gently. We are all paranoid! which is a good thing, and hopefully other cat owners learn from our accident. It happened so fast!
