Oh how horrible. Waiting for update. I am sure your stepson feels horrible. One day I shut my boys tail in the door and omg I felt horrible and it luckily only bruised. After it happened he ran and hid. I found him and when I went to pick him up to say sorry, I poked him in the eye (now I can giggle) but at the time it was horrible. Then on top of it all..I kid you not the same night I closed the closet door on his tail. Talking about a bad day...lol. But again was so lucky it was only bruised and I did not fully shut either door on it. It has to be painful. Just think this weekend you will be loving him up more than ever. :)

LMAO! your post cracked me up....Im sure you felt awful that day, but it i funny! LOL poor kitty. Im sure he's forgotten!

Vladimir came home tonight!!! We were so happy. I posted a bunch of pics of him as soon as he got in the door and some shots of his new tail. He was very active when he first got home, probably because he was in a little cage for 3 days!

Then we gave him his pain meds and he is passed out with Daddy and the other cats in bed now.

Im amazed at how perky he is! But I think thats from 3 days of I.V antibiotics. Hydration makes a big difference. He also had slow release I.V antibiotics. He is eating and drinking great. His tail looks good, with some swelling. he had a very long tail so even though he lost half of it, its still pretty long!

Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts!

Yay! So glad he's home and doing well!!

I'm also impressed with the amount of tail he has left and how good it already looks just a few days out from amputation.

Hope all soon returns to status quo in your household and that your stepson is doing okay as well.

So glad to hear Vlad is home with his family! That has to cut down on your stress a bit. I was surprised at how good it looked too. It won't even be that noticeable once it totally heals over. He really must've had a long tail!

Thats what I thought too and what a few people have commented on. He DID have a very long tail, so even though he's lost about half, its not as stubby as I was thinking it would be! Here is a pic of his old tail and new one. No more more fiddlehead tail!

Nofuratu let Vlad wear his tiara while he is healing.
