Waiting for new kitty

I have been in touch with my breeder. She will have kittens available end of August/beginning of September. She has seven available now but I am #16 on the wait list. End of August or beginning of September is perfect timing for me.

MY QUESTION:

I had to euthanize Raphael in January due to HCM complications. I have kept her scratching posts and cat tree. Is that ok or will new kitty be able to smell her on the cat tree? I will buy new litter trays, blankets, and beds. Cat trees are big so I hate to have to get rid of this one and buy a new one but I will if people have had negative experiences with giving their new kitty their old kitty things.

I am SO excited for you! I have never gotten rid of cat trees everything will smell new to a kitten so it really doesn’t matter to them. Think of all the things Rafael would rub up against etc…no way to totally get rid of their scents left behind Cat trees are a pretty big expense/investment would be terrible to get rid of it.
