Wow it’s crazy how much water fountains make ur bbys drink water. I was skeptical but bought one anyways and oh man it’s insane. I went from barely ever seeing them drink water to them both sitting there drinking for a whole minute straight. Keeping hydrated is key! If u have a kitty that doesn’t drink much def get one of these. It’s a life changer.

@Jatsanford , thank you for sharing! look forward to pics of your babies using the fountain. yes hydration is key! what brand fountain ?

sharing, years ago I used fountains and found they need to be cleaned constantly. a slimy invisible film builds up quickly. The fountain motor needs to be taken out and cleaned as well. I did weekly. I soaked motor parts in water and a little white vinegar and was amazed at the junk that came out. You can contact the manufacturer for your particular fountains routine maintenance instructions.

hugs and head smooches to your babies!

We also had a fountain years ago, and got rid of it when we found mosquito larvae inside it. So no more fountains for us.

A water fountain is a great way to encourage cats to drink more. Fresh, flowing water usually keeps them better hydrated

@PeterJBlanki , welcome to the lair family, so glad to see you jump in and post along with us. look forward to an introduction post.

Mine were hit and miss with fountains. People also need to realize they need to be cleaned often as they get invisible slim build up and the pump needs to be taken apart and soaked routine maintenance as it gets gunky too. I used to soak in some white vinegar and water to clean water fountain pump parts
