For a while now, but not every time I visit, it's kind of sporadic, the graphics and drop down bars have been all weird. For example, today I have a string of YouTube graphics across the top of the page, covering where the envelope is for my messages and the flag for notifications. And across the selection for text/colour/font etc, I have a string of little blue birds! Plus, a few other weird graphics on the 'create thread' buttons etc.

If I guess correctly, I can still use the buttons for text/colour/menus etc, but I'm sure it's something that can be fixed, because I'm a terrible guesser! I've tried several devices, all iPads or iPhones and it's the same on all of them.

I noticed a thread on the postbit display problems, too and they are often all weird with giant dancing sphynxes instead of avatars or a selection of flags.

Hope there's a solution!

  1. This: You know clearing your computer browser's cache is beneficial, but you probably haven't been clearing your iPhone's browser's history, cookies and data. To do this, go to Settings, then Safari (or whatever browser app you use), then you'll see "Clear History" and "Clear Cookies and Data."

Thank you for the tip. I just did that and restarted my iPad, but it's still the same. I guess it's just me though if you aren't getting weird graphics.

Any other suggestions? I'm not very tech savvy!

I could be snarky and say get an android tablet... (sorry, I just couldn't resist).

Seriously though... make sure you close all apps on your iPad (they never really close unless you close them). Then either restart or shut your iPad down & back up again.

Also, check to see if there are any updates for your browser app on the iPad.

And finally, does the same thing happen in a different browser app on the iPad?

Strangely, after going to sleep and waking up, not having done anything else to my iPad, everything seems to be working just fine now! I think clearing the cookies etc was the key, it just needed to sleep on it before it took effect o_O
Thank you for your help, @admin

@Yoda mom hehe, no way I'm going android. I've been an iPad user for years now and still learning how to use it! Learning new equipment is like learning a different language, which for me, is next to impossible. Unless Apple goes bust, I'll be sticking to what I know (but of course, I appreciate your advice!)

@lealea, I have an old iPad 2 :)
Mine gets weird too at times
Lol the android info was from xandria :)
Lol What's an android :)

Double click your home round button on the face of the iPad - this will show all your open apps-
Swipe them up to close

When my iPad acts up I go to the lair with chrome instead of Safari internet browser
Chrome in the US seems to work better then Safari at times especially with password stuff on an iPad

I have not done updates to my iPad in a while - my mom did last week and it wiped out her IPad- of course she said she didn't remember what update it was :(

She had to start alllllll over - I do a clear history but not the data part biz I lost all my passwords logins etc for sites

I find using a different internet browser to access the lair sometimes does the trick

Now only if I could get all my postbits to display ;)

[]Oops, sorry @Yoda mom must have had you on my mind when I was typing, you must think I'm mad! So, @Xandria cheers for the android tipso_O

I'm always anxious when I do an update. I did one once and it was faulty and just drained my battery in less than an hour!

I've got an iPad Air right now, which is pretty much a third arm to me, I use it all the time and it's great for quick lookups when I'm at work and need a bit of info on medications or something.

The postbit won't let me display my bats, even if I try to have bats on their own. Weird. Not a life changing problem, but still, it perplexes me. Maybe I'll get them to display by the time Christmas comes around ...

Thanks for the tips on swiping my open apps away. I found that one out by accident one day. You used to close them with a little X on the edge of it, so it took me a while of bashing at my iPad screen until I accidentally swiped one away and then a while longer before I actually worked out what it did!
