So I finally am able to update you guys about everything going on! It has been a CRAZY week!!
So I was admitted into the hospital on Saturday at 7 pm. I was scheduled to be induced so I could get my stubborn baby out of me!
I was 41 weeks on Sunday (due date was April 14th) and the doctor wouldn't let me go past 41 weeks (now looking back totally a blessing!).
I apologize if some of this is to much information or anything!
So I was basically "closed for business" as far as my "condition" was every single time the doctor checked, and same thing when I was admitted. So they inserted Cervidil which is supposed to soften the cervix and prepare for dilation. The Cervidil is just an insert with medicine in it but it has to stay in for 12 hours. So after 12 hours they re-checked my "status" and still NOTHING was going on. Nada. So they put in another Cervidil thing and I waited another 12 hours! After the second 12 hours went by they again checked me and nothing... again. So they told me they could either perform a C-section or start Pitocin which is to start labor. So I opted for pitocin. So they started the Pitocin and within the hour I dilated to 1 cm and my water broke. This was Monday early early AM. At about 3 am I got my epidural which wasn't pleasant because I am terrified of needles (cruel joke being pregnant and having to do all the blood tests and stuff ahahaha). Got my epidural and was comfortable enough to sleep! They checked me around like 7 - 8 am and I was only dilated to 2 CM. They continued to let me go. They let me go for awhile but in the later afternoon I started having increasingly horrible contractions that I could feel. Straight up PAIN not just pressure like normally you feel with the epidural. Then for a straight hour I was in agonizing pain. Like the worst pain I have ever felt in my entire life. They discovered the catheter for the epidural had fallen out of my back and my back was leaking so the epidural was no longer working and I was feeling all the pain. And the anesthesiologist was helping other patients and dealing with a C-section so it took an hour for them to get him in my room. I was screaming, agonizing, writhing around and trying hard not to make things worse by trying to push. Breathing was HARD. I screamed like a banshee and I kept apologizing to the nurse and my fiancee for screaming LOL! So the anesthesiologist was finally able to come to my room and he did a second epidural!! And of course the epidural took quite a bit of time to stop the horrible pain. After about another hour they re-checked my progress. They had stopped the Pitocin for the hour the epidural had worn off, and they re-started it once the second epidural was in place. When they re-checked me I was only dilated to a 3 (after all the pain and contractions and screaming), and my cervix was swelling up and actually closing back up!!! So my labor was going backwards basically. They think that miss thang (the baby) was just too big to come out and she was pushing down and I wasn't able to progress fast enough to get her out. So around 7 pm they ordered a C section and I went in for a C section at 7:30. It didn't take long for the C section and I already had the epidural catheter in place so they didn't have to do anything to get the drugs flowing and numb me all out!
The C section was NOTHING. Like seriously I felt nothing. They said the worst part would be when they removed the baby because of the pressure but I felt very little pressure. The most pressure was from when they were closing me up! When I first saw my little girl I was in shock and awe that I had this baby inside of me for 10 months!
Molly Ann (Ann is middle name) was born at 86 pm on April 22nd. She weighed 8 lbs 4 oz. and was 19.5 inches long! She is a BIG healthy girl! She is absolutely perfect!
So they took Molly to the nursery with my fiancee and for an hour I was in a recovery room while they monitored my vitals. I took a nap for that hour! Then around 10:15 pm I was taken to the post partum room and I finally got to hold my baby and feed her and everything!
I have about 100 staples in my stomach. It is quite painful. I am on pain killers and I can't do much at all. My fiancee is an AMAZING amazing guy. I am so blessed to have him in my life. We only live about 10 mins from the hospital. So while I was in the hospital he was driving home to let the dogs in and out side, feeding the cats, feeding the dogs, bringing me food, and after Molly was born he changed all her diapers since it hurts me to stand up and walk.
We were discharged yesterday (Wednesday) around 2 pm ish. I am SO SO happy to be home! All my animals were SO happy to see us, and Coal our oldest dog met Molly first and he is in love! Tsume and Akasha both sniffed Molly and couldn't really care less about her .
Molly is a GREAT baby! Not really overly fussy, she cries when her diaper is dirty but as soon as the clean one is on she stops like immediately. I am in awe over every little thing she does and I can't explain the pure adoration I have for this little girl! And my relationship with my fiancee is even closer (didn't even know that was possible!) because we share a bond with our daughter. It is still so crazy to me that we have a daughter and sometimes I just stare at her in amazement that she is mine! She latches on to feed so easily, I am really sore still but we are both learning!
I am so proud that I am her mom and that I was able to have her! My fiancee is amazing, he is still feeding the pets, taking care of them, changing all the diapers, and he is taking amazing care of me on top of taking care of everything else!
I should be getting my staples removed Friday so for now I am taking it easy and just healing! I really really didn't want a C section but now that Molly is here nothing, absolutely nothing matters but her. Every bad thing that happened, pain, stress, fear, it is all just nothing because it all led to her being home!
And might I add that the first shower I got to take tonight after being in the hospital and feeling horrible was the BEST shower I've ever had .
So we are home! I might not be as active on the computer but I will say everything is perfect right now!

She is so sweet! she wants to cuddle and her face is just like "what do you mean I am not the baby right now?" LOL!

Anyways, congrats again on the new baby and I'm glad you have such a great man to take care of you both and the pets
