Lilith's mama and I have decided that it's time to grow our sphynx family. We've placed a deposit on a sweet boy who just happens to be our Liliths half brother. He is 7 months younger than her and will be joining our family sometime in January! Just had to share the news and as soon as he gets here, I will post pictures!

Happy Holidays one and all!

This is a picture of our future Sphynx. Once he gets here, I will post more pictures. We plan to name him Lucifer since his sister is named Lilith....and our dog is named Cain. lol

So our boy's flight was delayed due to mechanical issues. He spent last night in Denver at a boarding facility that United Airlines works with for their PetSafe travel. He arrived early this afternoon. We brought him home, the dog loves him and he likes the dog, Lilith hates him. I'd never heard a cat snort like a pig until today. She was growling and hissing for the first couple of hours. Now she simply hisses if he walks too close to her. And the poor thing has thrown up twice since we got him home, stress from traveling? We'd be open to thoughts and theories. Wife is calling the vet tomorrow. Vomit has been clear.

Put him in a separate room. Cats are territorial so it takes time to adjust. Give you new baby a littler box and toys in a room with a door. Keep them separate for about a week. This also helps to keep kitty germs separate Do small play times with both kitties in the same room. I wouldn’t do that until after the new kitty has been to the vet and has been cleared of illness. It’s just precautionary but worth it!!!

Awh... What a journey.. Give it some time-
Amd good for peace of mind to check in with your vet
Also some kitty contracts require a wellness check within a few days -
Always good to get a baseline. Amd a poo sample along as suggestion

My Toby huffed and puffed and growled .. I was a bit worried but... Lol as I type they are in a sphynx pile together :) snuggling

I kept a separate kitty room with lots of slow intros amd dual play with a cat dancer toy on each side
Cross scemted towels and put by eachs food dishes
Swapped kitty blankies etc

Then I rotate free roaming on theor own
Working at their comfort level
Armed with two Dabird pole toys for eventual short periods of meet n greet
I kept them separated when I wasn't home
I probably take it slower than most using a kitty "safe room"
But with 4 I had to give them the best chances of success
Now I have a sphynx pile on me right this minute

Keep us updated !

Head smooches!

He had a full health check the day before he flew out as is required by the airline. It seems to have been just a case of an upset tummy, but wife will be making him a vet appointment in the morning as our breeder does require him to get a wellness check. For now, peace reigns in the house. Lucifer is curled up next to my wife on the couch, and Lilith is happily curled up in her bed in front of the couch giving "the boy" the hairy...(hairless) eyeball. She has been letting me pet her after petting him now and even gave me kisses. I suppose we just figured she would be nicer since they share the same sire. He does seem to be winning her over slowly but surely though, and there will be no leaving them alone together just yet. Of course, he only wants to play with her toys. She's convinced this is the Worst. Day. Ever.

By the time he arrived he had been in transit for 28 hours. Today he is at the vet as he is not eating and has now been throwing up since we got him home yesterday. Just waiting for the wife to give me a call and an update.

Lucifer is so handsome and cute! Lilith will learn to love him I think.
28 hours is a long journey for such a young boy. Can imagine the throwing up is caused by stress of the flight and his new home. Sending healing vibes

Hope the vet gives him the all clear. I'm sure it's all from the stress and he will bounce back in no time. Sending happy vibes your way!

So, the word from the Vet is that he has a double ear infection. She also gave him an anti-emetic shot and suddenly our sweet little boy lived up to his name and tried to bite the vet, he was having none of it! lol Since he still wouldn't eat anything after a few hours, we called the vet again who gave us some syringes and recommended chicken baby food. 2 mls every two hours. Wife got the first syringe into him no problem. The second time, he showed interest and ate it off a spoon! He's also getting antibiotics for his ears, 3 drops each ear 2x a day. We'll continue to keep an eye on him. The vet felt for a blockage and didn't feel any, but told us if he starts throwing up or doesn't make any stool, to bring him back in.
