@Yoda mom, thank you for all the information. I'll be discussing Nutrical and now glop with my vet in the morning. Right now both kitties are snoozing. For his URI he got an injection of Convenia which is a two week antibiotic. And for the antiemetic he's getting Cerenia injections. Luckily we don't have to give him pills. He also gets three drops in each ear twice a day for 7 days. His ears are clean and looking better. Less head shaking and scratching, so I think they are improving.

Come on little Lucifer you need to eat. You found yourself a wonderful home with a mommy and a daddy who love you very much. And with a sister that wants to play with you. So you need to eat!

Sending positive vibes. Hope he starts eating.

Do you know what the breeder was feeding him? Maybe you can try give him that?

@Toa and Ross we feed the exact same food as the breeder since we never switched Lilith off of it.

So here's the latest update. We were at the vet as of 8am. We did a full blood panel, plus FIV FeLV test and repeat x-rays. All of his blood work came back normal. Kidney function is good and his glucose and electrolytes are in normal range. He tested negative for FIV and FeLV and there's no signs of Corona virus or FIP that we can see (no fever, congested lungs ect.)

On x-ray he appears to have something in his stomach, which was also on x-ray two days ago. However, there is also the possibility that his stomach has just flopped over from being empty. As it's unclear on x-ray what it could be he's stayed at the vet for large quantity force feeding.

At 10ml's each feeding, for a total of 50 mls today (1/3 of his daily need) we are hopeful that one of two things will happen:

1) He vomits everything in spite of the Cerenia injection, thus leading to the conclusion there is something in his stomach causing an issue and leading to surgical intervention.

2) He keeps the large quantities down and his appetite is stimulated enough that he starts eating on his own. (I am most hopeful for this option).

If he starts eating on his own, he can come home this evening. If he doesn't, but isn't vomiting, then he'll stay over the course of the weekend where they will increase the quantity of food until he's at 150ml (full daily allowance) and hopefully by Monday he's eating on his own.

Sorry for the long winded post. Once again, thank you so much everyone for your thoughts, prayers and healing vibes. Fingers crossed for good news, just waiting on the vet to call with an update.

@Lucifers Mom , we are seeing a lair full of Positve vibes for Lucifer!
We worry like ome of our OEM simce all are lair family!
(((((Hugs))))))))) and {{{{ Positve vibes}}}}}}}}

Thinking of you amd prayers for Good news!

Ps- if he does need surgery ever for neuter etc ..be sure NO Ketamine anesthesia
It can have a rebound effect on the heart
for kitties that may have underlying heart issues

Many vets use Isoflurane or similar gas inhalant anesthesia instead

Also, I alway ask the vet for a good listen of the heart while they are at the vet to see if they detect any heart murmurs (keep in mind they can have stress murmurs detected while at the vet - so my vet always listens to heart each visit to see if any differences ) she even let me listen with her stethoscope

@Yoda mom I'd heard about the ketamine issue. His heart sounds good, our vet also listens at every visit. Right now I am running on the theory that no news is good news since I haven't heard from the vet. He should be undergoing his second large quantity feeding any time now.

This is such a wonderful and amazing community and I'm glad @Liliths Dad found ya'll. Also an apology for the tons of pictures I just uploaded in the media section. Trying to keep myself distracted. :D

The latest update with regards to Lucifer is as follows, they got 20 mils into him and he kept it down! He also went potty without the need for an enema. The vet believes, since he didn't throw up that there is NO blockage. They're going to keep him over night and continue to monitor him and feed him. If he continues to do well and starts to show an interest in eating on his own, he should be able to come home tomorrow! Thank you for all the prayers and positive vibes, it seems to be helping, if not Lucifer, certainly his mom and I.

This is some good news! I’d suggest keeping and Lilith separate so he can mellow once he’s home! Soooo many changes for the little guy in such a short period. It’s great to see he’s got 2 caring parents ️

So I talked with the vet this morning and Lucifer ate 3/4 of a bag of cat treats. Unfortunately he threw it up about 5 minutes after we got off the phone he threw it up. So she gave him another injection and we're going to see what happens this afternoon. If he shows interest in eating on his own, we can bring him home.

We have a litter box, food and water all set up for him so he can relax in a private room and just get the lay of the land once he's home. Here's hoping!

Have you checked with the boarding place and asked what they may have fed him or if he was quarantined with any other cats that may have been sick or if he had any aberrant behavior while he was there?

Hi @Roki, I have no idea where he was boarded. United Petsafe program boarded him in Denver but they called me from Houston so he was basically in the wind for a bit.

GOOD NEWS though! Lucifer is home, he's sitting next to me purring away. He got more food at the Vet and this afternoon when she came in, he was interested in her Potato Ole's (something from Taco Johns I guess?). She didn't feed him any but it wasn't for lack of trying on his part. He ate 10 more treats and the vet felt comfortable that he could come home if we were comfortable. I was, so we picked him up.

We stopped by the store and got like 7 or 8 different brands of wet food, everything from Science Diet, Blue Buffalo all the way to cheap and smelly Fancy Feast. He wasn't having any of it. So then we tried a little bit of his hard food mixed with a few of the Temptations treats. And he ATE IT! He ate more of the food than the treats, too! All on his own, totally unassisted. I am so excited! Now he's sleeping off his food coma.

We're still doing the Cerenia but this time it's a half tablet for 6 days to see if he's keeps up the trend and gets over the hump of his infections. Fingers and paws crossed.

ETA: He's used the box three times. Once for poo, twice to pee. So big big improvements!
