@curlysue, I just showed my husband the before and after pics of your Violet and not only did his eyes pop out of his head, but he could NOT get over the difference.

Good for you and good for Violet. I have never seen such a difference in a pet's weight loss. Truly wonderful story. :)

It’s so awesome that you ended up with each other. It’s hard to believe that the before photo is even real. It almost looked photoshopped. She looks like a completely different cat now! (and LOL @ “pillow with legs”)

Yes, that was the only photo I was provided prior to getting her. Her owner actually posted a thread on here asking for a new home for her and nothing panned out. One of the awesome members on the Lair emailed me trying to help her find a forever home. I had been looking to rescue a sphynx for a while. It worked out great. She was truely that large when she arrived.

The attached photos will give you a better ideal of just how big she was. Those little toothpick legs holding up that fluffy body.

Amazing! Oliver just needs to look once with those sad eyes and I am willing to pull out the treats. I'm sure that took a lot of dedication!

Amazing story what a great thing you have done. I can imagine how much better she feels. You should feel such a sense of pride it's wonderful you hung in there and kept at it until you had success. These kitties aren't made to carry all that weight she probably feels like a million bucks.

I loved seeing her transformation

There were very nasty posts when her old owner was looking for a home for her. When I talked to him he was so upset and he didn't know how to help her loos the weight. There life style had changed with having a child. I still keep in touch with them and they love and miss her a great deal.

I can completely understand that look. Curly is a junk food junkie and she is one of those that can eat anything and not gain a once. Hairry dose not even like wet food so teats are a no go with him as well. Violet loves to eat anything you put in front of her. I just stopped buying treats so there was nothing to give them. They did get treats for the Christmas in July and those were such a treat for them and I still have a full package left.

There is a special place in HEAVEN for you, my friend. Violet is a lucky girl to have made her way to your loving home.

Do you have any tips on helping one cat lose weight in a multi cat household where there are different types of food involved as well as different feeding scheduals? Also, any advice on a perpetually hungry cat? Vito thinks he is always hungry and has been like this since he was on steroids which he had been off since October. Other than his hear meds the only thing he is on is cyclosporin for suposed allergies and L-lysine.

Thanks and congrats of such a great success with Violet.

Hi there, Well I was lucky enough that all three Sphynx can eat the same thing. Curly was nice and trim, Hairry was a little plump and Violet was off the chart. I put them all on the same food and they all lost weight. For Violet she had to go through thinking I was starving her. As a treat I would give them a piece of chicken because it was high in protein (this didn't happen often). Violet was on a 2 can of fancy feast plus dry food a day diet before I got her.

I am going to have to deal with the different food thing come this weekend because we are getting a new Sphynx kitten and his food Violet can not eat or she will plump back up.

Maybe feed Vito three times a day his allotted amount of food. I know it is a pain but it would spread out his food thus him feeling not so hungry. I did feed raw food three times a day (it was a pain) but Violet wouldn't eat the raw.

I am not sure I have been much help.
