Whew! Read every post in this thread.
In my city we have a CAT ONLY vet. When I took in Rapunzel, I brought all the stuff I bought at pet-co. Her words match most of this posts that I should stick to grain free wet food only. I took back science diet and bought "wellness indoor" and a squirt on omegs 3 oil called welactin. For FYI you can return opened to Pet-Co (obviously not if its 1/2 gone)

I like my cats to eat Royal Cannin Digestive Comfort - the cheerios shape help them to chew first! Definately helps in the litter box department. However, they prefer wet food...

I switched my kitten to Halo wet and dry food after I got her from the breeder. I am still slowly mixing in her new food. She had been eating Meow mix (which in my opinion is crap). Even though there is still a little bit of that in her new food I have to say she had better bowel movements and they smell much better.
The only down side to Halo is that no one in my area sells it so I have to order online. So I have signed up for auto-deliver.

I use Blue Buffalo Wilderness formula for dry and wet food. They love it. It's "grain free" etc, it's only about $21 a bag at petsmart

We are switching Patches to Wellness Core. That is what Nora is already eating Wellness Core, and after doing my research it looks like a good high quality food! Patches seems to be enjoying it!

I feed my cats the Blue Buffalo brand. It is kind of pricey, but they like it...so I don't mind spending a little extra on a "good" cat food. They have grain free, and non grain free, so there is a choice, if you have picky eaters like I do.

Paul gets Royal Canin GI High Energy canned and a few kibble a of either t/d or DH.

He came from the breeder eating a mixture of grain free dry, but I prefer to feed canned to my boys.

Skinz- I have discovered-is sensitive to gluten/grain. I couldn't figure out why her skin was dull, her eyes were runny and her poo was liquid. It was because of the cheap food I used to feed her :-( Now I buy a canned food called Simply Nourish. It is FANTASTIC. Limited ingredients. No byproducts etc. I alternate that with Wellness & Blue Buffalo canned. She rarely eats dry but I keep a bowl of Royal Canin available to her. The one for picky eaters that has a small size and crunchy texture (Sensations I think). By no means do I have a lot of money. I do without luxuries so my kitties have the best. :)

I've been using Blue Buffalo with my cats ever since it was suggested to me years ago. They're a little more expensive than many brands, but they don't color their food, and they have labels for critters with gluten allergies. Every couple of days, I also give Nym some wet food from "the honest kitchen". It comes in a powder and you rehydrate it with hot water. It's even suitable for human consumption.

I am currently feeding Royal Canin Kitten 36 and Kitten Instinctive canned. She occasionally eats some of the other cat's food which is the Costco brand mixed with Orijin but she mostly sticks to her bowl. She'll be switched to Sphynx 33 or another high end brand when she's a year old.

Please give us your choice of cat food. If you have a specific reason for a particular brand, please explain.

I use Royal Canin. Baby Cat (canned and dry) until they are four months old, then switched to Royal Canin Kitten (canned and dry) until they are a year old.

I didn't know about the Baby Cat formula when I got my Liam and Grayson and they had all sorts of stomach issues. Very loose BM's. BUT I found out about it in time for Simon and he did REALLY, REALLY WELL on the Baby Cat. He loves it so much that I'm taking my time weaning him now to the Kitten formula.

Also know that Royal Canin makes breed specific food! They HAVE a sphynx formula which I know makes them slow down while eating because of their fast metabolism! Thus, firmer stools.

As far as I know, it's only for adult (a year old +) and when I found out about it, it was only available in Canada. But the manager of my local PetCo told me that they are getting in breed specific food by Royal Canin...and I didn't even ask him!

My boys' breeder used Royal Canin and told me to use it and a few other breeders use it that I know of (whomever I inquired about getting a kitten from).

Here is their website: Accueil (Nutrition chien, race de chien, nutrition chat, races de chats, RoyalCanin.com) - Royal Canin Check out what they have to say about Baby Cat, Kitten and adult formulas. Also read about the sphynx cat food they have. If it's not in English and you need to read only English, then click on the tab all the way at the top of their website to change the language.

They even have other specific needs food such as for the picky eater, etc. I can't remember all of them.

I'm with you on this one- was thinking of trying raw before I bought the boys home. The breeder had them on royal canin. After hearing all the horror stories about upset tummies they came to me with formed stool and non smelly:) the one time Brian got an upset tummy from something non royal canin made me think - if it's not broke - don't fix it!! :)

Blue Buffalo Wilderness, just switched my fur babies to it (I wanted to start them on grain free) and will start my sphynx on it when he comes home in August.

Same here, but then we have the same breeder. :) I will continue with the Go. I wish I had switched Vito ages ago. His poop is so much better and hardly smells at all.
