I would like if when you open a thread that is automatically scrolls to the first unread post.

I love the atmosphere, the people, the Lounge, the ability to customize our pages and the kitty prints in the background. I love the escalator icon to take you back to the top when you havent reached the bottom.

Not sure if this is what you mean - there are arrows next to the thread or post name that will either bring you to the first new post since your last visit, or last post. See attachments-

I've spent time looking in the past, but not more recently, for an option to mark threads as read. I spend most of my time just using "unread posts," but would like some way to 'clear out' all the new posts so I know what I really have read and what I haven't if they build up.

I also don't think it's necessary to have the warning notice about not having posted recently. I'm mostly a reader. If one hasn't posted in a while, one is going to know.

Someone else has mentioned that they don't like having "sphynxlair" stamped onto his/her photos. I agree; it's just kind of annoying. I took my own photos. I like to share photos and love to view the photos of others here - we know what website we're visiting.

I've tried a few times to link my instagram and youtube accounts to my profile (and so it shows up when I post) following the instructions both on the website and from some thread, but only twitter appears.

The other forum navigation features seem fine to me. I like the 'scroll to the top' button and the search feature. The synergy of the community here is great, obviously. Not much the admins can do to improve that. :)

You have successfully linked all of the accounts you have mentioned - it shows down towards the bottom of the avatar area, See picture.

The mark forums read is towards the bottom of the page main page, just past the last forum category right above the ad - see picture.

i've been a member almost 2 1/2 years now. i love everything about the Lair, the admins & the members. i don't know anything about web design, so i can't fathom what improvements could be made to an already awesome site. some others have mentioned changing background/color. that would be nice:Smile:

By now I am sure you know I don't like the site, I love it. I know you take pride in having created a "community" and you have succeeded because you are careful to make this a positive place for all.

I think it is hard for those of us who have been on here a couple of years to think of it being any different. The one thing that might be good is when a new member joins and you welcome them, a standard rules email could go out to them so they understand about the pictures and how many posts they need etc. That seems to frustrate the newbies. I think the rules part is kind of brushed over and not fully read by the newbies when signing up because they are so excited to just start using it. It might not be possible, but just a thought.

Many of us have become friendly and many Lair members have different Instagram names etc. If the profile area had a place for other info like Instagram name etc, it would be helpful (obviously optional to fill in) Several times members have sent posts saying they joined Instagram and who else is on there so we can all hook up. Again it would be an optional area to fill in but might help.

Thanks for helping me out on both issues! I can only see the twitter icon and I can't see the mark as read option- how weird is that? Maybe it is a Google Chrome issue, who knows. I'll have to check it out with a different browser later on.

Well, I have to say I love the Lair and I know admin likes to please the members and keep the site New updated and fresh. I love it like it is. But, when admin makes changes and updates I like them all. So I have no suggestion. This is the greatest site on the internet. The most wonderful people also. The admins is wonderful also. Tom tries to please everyone. If we want something he tries to do it or fix it. So I am happy with whatever Tom and Heather desires to do. But, I am glad admin cares about what we like, dislike, want and Don't want most sites don't care if you like it or not.

Love the Sphynx Lairians and of course the super dedicated Lairily, to use Nikki's turn of phrase.

Dislike: the color scheme. Its a lot of light on light and when one has vision issues, light on light can be difficult.

Just remembered: I don't like all the pet-related conversation in the "non pet related" thread. It just bugs me. It very specifically says "non pet related", but most of the threads are very pet-related.

Is it possible for members to create polls?

I have seen a good amount of threads on here that would have been better suited at polls and had some ideas for a few myself - looking at the polls they all seem to be created by you (unless I missed some)

On a lot of the other forums I am on members have the ability to do this so would be a nice thing to see, in my opinion anyway!

Like: Basically EVERYTHING. This place is the best.

Dislike: The notifications drop down tab thing. I don't necessarily want to have to click on every single notification I get to make the icon go away. I'd like to just click to see them, have the notification go away, and if I want to go see each individual one, I could click it.

With our new site (coming soon) this is an option for the "alert" system. YOU control what you want to be alerted about. :Wink2:

The new site (coming soon) is a bit more of an "earthy" color and not as bright as the white on the current site.
