We have talked to vet tech and they have told us we wouldn't need to get rabies or distemper since we don't let Hermione outside. She is 4 months old and we are new to breed, my other cats went outside so it was a definite. Hermione is only cat in household and doesn't go outside.
I don't know much about rabies in Europe, but it is pretty common in the U.S. I have had cats that we did not vaccinate--our Kermit would get horrible fevers when he got vaccines, but we were always aware that they could get sick, even if they didn't go out. Kermit lived to be 19 years old and we only vaccinated him for his first 3 years--and he was allowed to be outside. Now, because we take Cleo and Marcus shopping and other places where they are in contact with other animals, we keep up the vaccines. Hope this helps you!My boys are not vaccinated against rabbies. I think it's not necessary when Hermione isn't going outside. @Cleopatra Beers did give you great advise about bats!
