When will the good come?

A couple weeks ago my car needed new tires and also the brake fluid line valve replaced. That was around $600.
Yesterday was my first day of school and I was so stoked.
Well this morning I'm driving to school and my car is smoking, so I pulled off the freeway only for my car to completely stop and not turn on.
I'm sitting in my car by myself bawling my eyes out, trying to call my husband. My grandma came and helped me push the car into a near by parking lot. (It's a vw golf so it's little) she brought me home so I can figure everything out.
We called the dealership and they said its most likely the oil pump.

When will I catch a break. All these expensive car fixes are stressing me out, so much stress and just crying because its overwhelming.We're on a student income and it sucks so much.

My grandma is going to help us out and were going to pay her back, but I hate relying on people to help me out. Especially when it's expensive.

I'm also only allowed to miss 3 days of school and its only the second day making me look bad. Ugh.

I just had to rant because I'm so overwhelmed I don't know what to do. I seem to have the worst luck and when things are going decent something screws up.

Hugs Tina. I know it sucks when things like this happen, but just stay focused on the positive. I know when it comes to money things seem larger than they really are. Once you get through and things aren't so tough financially you will see that they are just bumps in the road.

So nice of your grandma to help you out. You are lucky to have someone who can help.

Well my husbands friend came to the rescue. He drove us out there and looked at it. And there was too much oil in the car. And it was leaking into the air filter. He know how to fix it!! I'm pretty relieved. Needless to say my husband isn't allowed to touch the car under the hood anymore haha. He doesn't really know about cars, but he didn't have anybody to teach him growing up so I'm not blaming him for a mistake.

It's funny his friend said "you pulled such a girl move"

Girlfriend, I know you maybe don't feel like it at the moment, but you are sooooo blessed. You have a grandma and a grandpa who must adore you and are always there to help if you need it. You have a husband that may not know about under the hood car stuff, but he loves you and your little cat family. You have the sweetest bunch of cats ever. You have a beautiful home--much more than just a roof over your head. You are gorgeous. You are healthy. And you've started a new adventure--working toward a career that makes you happy. Aww, I'm so sorry to hear all the stress on you right now. Be happy that your grandma can help you out right now. It's important to cry when you feel like it. It helps you move on but please don't feel that you have a dark cloud hanging over your head. These things happen and just know that they are the simple things that can be resolved unlike severe health problems. I always try to put things in perspective. Doesn't always work when I feel like crying, but eventually I land up feeling thankful for the the other things.
Venting is important and I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to do that here and share your stressful time.

I am so sorry sweetie. When it rains it poors. I had allot I had to pay out this month for my kids camps, Birthdays, then Lucy got sick. We have spent 1200 on Lucy so far and still do not know what is wrong with her ugh. My mom let me put it on her credit card so I can pay her back next month. Thank God for my pet insurance so I do know we will get some back but still. When it rains it poors. Just think you have your husband and your kitty to come home to and you know you are loved.

I'm glad you had someone that could help you out and take a look at it. My husband is a lot like your's. He doesn't know much about car maintenance, and I actually know quite a bit because of my dad. I think it hurts his pride every time he tries and I have to correct him. Hopefully your string of bad luck is at its end though.

Sorry to hear of your sucky days. I totally understand how you feel ,when my boyfriend gets a raise along comes a massive bill out of no where. We been struggling for 3years now and now I'm jobless it sucks even more. We are waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel and hoping its soon.
