I want to get into feeding raw food, but I have read on a few different sites that feeding quartered whole raw animals is the best way to go. Once all my cats switch over, I plan on getting some live chickens, rabbits, and possibly quail and raise them for feeding my cats. But for now I will just buy it at the butcher shop. Does anyone have a good ratio of what each cat would need to eat per day? Does anyone else feed whole raw or is ground the favorite method? I would do ground, but I worry about gum disease due to the lack of grinding. Please advise...

I'm sorry but buying those animals while they are still alive and then killing them sounds so sad.

When I fed raw, I fed ground whole animal which I purchased from My Pet Carnivore. I would occasionally chunk up larger pieces to exercise their jaws. You are talking about the prey method....I never wanted to deal with that. So, I ground my own or bought from M.P.C.
