Wild Fork - new frozen meat grocery in Florida

This is EXCITING news!

I found out there is a new grocery store specializing in FROZEN MEATS. It's called Wild Fork Foods but it might as well be Wild Dream Foods because in my wildest dreams is where I imagined a place such as this that I could I could buy a GINORMOUS VARIETY of frozen meats to make cat food and not pay for shipping.

You read that right.....you do not pay for shipping....according to their web site DELIVERY IS FREE. The only catch is they only offer delivery in Florida. Outside of Florida there is no delivery at all.

Here are some of their samplings:
Chicken hearts - 1 pound - $0.98
Air chilled bone-in chicken thighs - 1 pound - $1.98
Whole rabbit fryer (skinned & gutted) - $23.68

They also carry game and exotic meats.....the variety is a lot more than you find in a grocery store so it's like they're competing with butcher shops too.

I'm planning to visit one of the Wild Fork stores near me to see it for myself and I'll post an update afterwards. For now I'm uploading a screen shot of their web site showing their product listing. By the way this takes nothing away from Hare Today and Raw Feeding Miami which are great sources of frozen meats for pets. Wild Fork Foods probably doesn't even realize that there are people out there who feed their pets raw meats; they think they are just selling for human consumption ha!!!

Yesterday I visited the local Wild Fork Foods store.

This is funny - I struck up a convo with an employee and I was telling him that this was going to come as a surprise but I was buying food for my pets; he started counting on his fingers and he said I was actually the 6th person that he heard that from!

Pet owners buying food for their pets are probably a good % of the frozen meat sold in traditional grocery stores but the stores don't have a clue. They just think they're selling for humans.

Anyway back to Wild Fork..... clean, perfectly organized with sections for different meats. Everything they sell is frozen so everything is in big chest freezers with a glass top so you can see inside. The top slides to open. Everything is packaged in freezer plastic and each piece is individually vacuum sealed so you can take one piece out at a time. I'm attaching a picture so you can see what I mean.

They told me shipping is free if you spend $35+ ....I can't even begin to wrap my head around how they can do this.

Chicken hearts are a great snack for cats and they're a great deal at 98 cents per pound. They come in a 1 pound bag. They were flash frozen so all the hearts are separate and you can take out 1 or 2 at a time.

I bought some chicken thighs with bone and skin. These thighs are antibiotic free and air chilled (no saltwater injection) so the price is very good.

If you're in Florida check them out. They deliver throughout the whole state.

UPDATING ORIGINAL POST - Wild Fork is now shipping to a bunch of states if anyone wants to try it.

What I buy for my guys:

1. Air chilled, antibiotic free chicken thighs similar to Perdue Harvestland - not ground so you need a grinder.
   • Bone and skin on $1.95/LB
   • Boneless and skinless $2.79/LB
2. Chicken hearts $0.98/LB
3. Ground boneless turkey $2.68/LB

@Yoda mom I have every store imaginable near me but I've still been buying meats for my own meals there.

I would rather shop at a farmer's market but with covid there's a line outside to get in the farmer's market. It's a good idea to keep people inside the store at a safe distance BUT it totally defeats the purpose if you have to stand in a crowded line.
