Just got back from . . .



The tattoo parlor!

This is the first of three sessions. This is Ash. Just having been done it's, of course, redder and darker than it will be when it heals.

In two weeks I'll be doing Ziggy. Then after that we'll add a border to join them together. (Gizzy, with his black, black nose, just won't translate well to a tattoo.)

It was amazing to watch this go from a simple outline to looking so real, but oh so painful! Getting the subtle shading and look of fur (which will be more noticeable when it heals) means needing to go over the same areas numerous times. The first couple of times are bad enough but by the time you get to four and five and... OUCH! But it came out looking so good so it's worth it! I wouldn't want it half ***ed. Can't wait to see it healed and to get/see Ziggy's!

It's on my leg. Ash's neck is near my ankle and Ziggy will be above and a little to the right (when looking at it). Unfortunately if I did put them on my arm, I would have to always wear long sleeves at work. But my leg lets us do them large to get great detail. I'm looking forward to seeing the final work too!
