Wish Lucy luck

So now that Lucy is better and she is out of heat she can finally get spayed. She is going in Monday morning, and has to spend the night. I am going to go nuts. I am already starting to worry. I know she will be ok. Any tips on what I need to do when I get her home and to make her comfortable...

Patty yes, she does have to spend the night. I am a bit sad about that. But I am taking her fav blanket and her heating pad. They said that was fine. So my question is how long is the recovery?

She’ll be totally fine! It’s going to be harder on you than it is on her, just like everything else that has happened. They may give you take home pain meds. Personally, I won’t give them anything for pain unless they look like they really need it. If they don’t feel any discomfort and go sprinting all over the house and jumping to and from perches it will put strain on fresh sutures. So my best advice is just to keep her in one room for the first day and see how she’s acting. Keeping them on exercise restriction is basically impossible but you can at least limit the number of things to jump to and from by confining the space somewhat. It sounds like the recovery would be excruciating to us but I think cats tolerate pain a lot better that we do!

Good luck, Lucy. Aww, but she will do fine. As some one already suggested, I think bringing a fave blankie of her's or a toy she can have while staying overnight @ the vet's is a great idea. When she comes home, just try to make sure she doesn't run around too much or do any jumping.

I was very concerned when Pinky had to stay at the hospital for a week. I missed her so much. It just wasn't the same without her. I was worried about the vets being so cold, the metal cages. I brought her favorite blanket, toy and they told me they would give her a heating pad.( I was going to take one for her). I'll be thinking of the both of you Monday. I'm sure it's going to be harder on you than Lucy. I can tell your a very loving ,devoted sphynx mom.
