Dec 9, 2014 started off like any morning, i awoke with Zoya tucked snuggly in my arm, she liked morning snuggles and kisses. I got up, dressed for the gym. Zoya goes over to the litter box. I'm facing the bed my back was to her. Suddenly i see her beside my leg looking up at me with this look I can't explain. I saw her hind legs had gone limp(?), she was paralyzed(?) and she pulled herself out of the litter box and drug herself to me. I had no idea of what just happened. I scooped her up in her blanket, pulled the poo from her butt and drove to the vet. Saddle thrombosis they said, grave prognosis. They started an iv to break up clots as fast as they could, but she threw another clot, this time to her brain, you could see it in her left eye. I held her swaddled in a blanket till she was gone. She was a beauty. My soul mate, if I ever did have one it was surely her. She was 3 years old, 3 weeks shy of turning 4. The vet didn't know why this happened, I have no answers. All they said was it was her heart and even if I had brought her in for this before this incident they wouldn't have caught on to it being her heart at this age. I still don't understand. It wasn't till now recently that I am ready to start again and am reading about HCM, I can't say that applied to her, I have no answers. I contacted the breeder she came from with absolutely no response, not so much as a sorry for your lose, which has saddened. I feel like these babies are not breed just to be pets, they are family members.
