Okay, I'm certainly not the lady I'm honoring this post, but I will do my best!!!

Dear Susi,

I hope you have a day as wonderful and special as you are and filled with as much love as you give.
You've been so amazing to Elvira and me with your advice, encouragement, and most of all your friendship.
You're always so absolutely dead-on with all aspects of Sphynx-parent-hood!
In this forum you're always among the first to reach your hand out to grab on to whomever may be struggling, may be lost, may be nervous or may be scared and you don't let them go until they're back on solid footing.
You always seem to know the exact perfect thing to say to any nervous Sphynx parent, new or experienced just the same.
I consider myself to be truly lucky and truly blessed to be your friend, and I'm quite certain I'm not alone in that category!
So thank you Susi, for all that you are, for all that you do, and for just being you!!!

Happy birthday to you Susi, from the Las Vegas contigent (really it's Henderson) of the official Susi and your menagerie fan club! Bob, Kermit, Sydney and I all send our warmest wishes for a fantastic birthday to you. Cleopatra has begun to believe that she really is the queen of the world since she got to star in a book. But she took time away from all her queenly duties to say, at the top of her Sphynxie voice, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MS. SUSI!!" Then she ruined it by saying she wants all your presents! :Sick::Sick:As I sit here reading what you guys have all said, the tears are just rolling down my face. I can't believe you're all so sweet and kind to me. I am stuck at home, sick as a dog and was having a "pity party" for myself because I feel so sick. My sister is bringing me some lunch--I begged off on the celebrating, I am just miserable. But decided to go on Facebook for a minute before I came here and I read a post from someone who said we needed to take a few minutes and make a list of ten things we are thankful for today. So here I go--forgive me if the first few are basic needs kind of thankfulness. Maybe it will help my attitude.
1. I am thankful for Kleenexes. Lots and lots and lots of them.
2. I am thankful for my couch and a warm fuzzy blanket to curl up on and in.
3. I am thankful for the Mucinex and Tylenol Cold and Flu syrup my sister just brought over.
4. I'm thankful for the food she brought for my lunch and pieces of a birthday cake too!
5. I am thankful I am blessed with a sister who is also my best friend.
6. I'm thankful for my animals who bring so much love and happiness to my life.
7. I am thankful for my friends--including all of you who make me feel so loved and accepted.
8. I am thankful for the Internet, so I can visit the Lair where I can be around other people who "get it".
9. I am thankful that I can still be part of a profession I love with kids I can still help.
10. I am thankful for being able to watch another sunrise tomorrow and for the respite of sleep when the day is done.

So then I come on here, and read this wonderful thread--gosh, you make me cry from all the nice things you said. Thank you Sara for the incredibly kind words. I don't know if I earned such wonderul praise, but my cup runneth over! I love each and every one of you and your words mean more to me than you could possibly know. This place truly IS my lair--my safe place from the rest of the world. Thank you all for being my friends and for being part of my family too.

Well, I guess it worked! My attitude is now one of gratitude. (But I still feel like crap! LOL):Sick::Sick:
