Sorry about the little boy, but the rest of the group look wonderful. May have to do a day trip to Alvarado to do some belly kissing.

Tonight all the babies look really really good. All of a sudden they are looking filled out, even more plump then yesterday. Their little bellies are round and tight. Ciel keeps them so very clean and she cuddles them so sweetly. I think she is being very careful and attentive of them. I noticed tonight that their ears are indeed darker tipped and some shading is showing up on their faces. I do believe I have all seal points.

What kind of point is the daddy of the litter ? Ciel is a seal point with white ? If the dad is also a point then they all will be point....but if dad is a mink...then you can have 50% point and 50% mink

Having kittens is nerve wracking. I am worried about the smallest female. She isn't as plump as the other kittens. I don't know if she is getting enough to nurse. I had Ciel by herself on the couch and petted her while I watched this littlest one nurse by herself for a little bit. I tried to supplement with milk replacement for kittens. She refuses to drink for the little bottle. Should I be worried? Should I be more aggressive in the supplementing?

Firehillqueen, what is her daily weight gain? When you are weighing her daily, if she is consistantly gaining, I would be less inclined to worry. Also, if she is not nursing very much, milk is a supply and demand sort of deal, some of your girl's mammaries can dry up if they are not being used. I have heard many breeders swear by goats milk as a supplement. Good luck!!

If she is declining in weight and refuses to be bottle fed, then tube feeding may be necessary. When we foster kittens, especially with the runt of the litter, special attention is always made. Like you said, we always give the kitten special times to nurse with mom each day. We've supplemented with KMR before, but I've heard that Goats Milk is truly the best. We've been lucky enough that our kittens will body feed once they get used to it, but if not, then tube feed....Like Shauntay said, if she's gaining weight each day, then I wouldn't worry as much. But still keep a close eye out. Good Luck to you and the babies! I know that you're doing a wonderful and fabulous job caring for these sweeties. It is a lot of hard work and extremely nerve wracking, but once they grow up a bit more and are strong, you 'll be able to relax and enjoy. It'll be more than worth it in the end. Please give each of the kittens big cuddles and kisses from me. Good Luck!

Today I used an eye dropper with pretty good success on both the smaller two kittens. I think I need to supplement all the kittens. I got a powdered milk replacement for kittens from my vet. I am worried since the next smaller kitten seems to have lost ground weight wise too, but she was very eager to suck on my finger and suck up the milk replacement. I am crossing my fingers and setting my clock.
Two paintings are sitting on the side waiting for me to finish them up.

If the little guys seem to be nursing well, I'd make sure that the tiniest ones had some solo-nursing time at least several times a day with Ciel. It could be that the bigger ones are pushing them away and getting the prime titties. If that doesn't work then I'd add bottle or tube feeding, whichever worked best for them.

I think Ciel is having trouble producing enough milk for four quickly growing kittens. Thursday they will be two weeks old and their eyes are slowly opening. They seem eager to suck my finger as I drop milk replacement on it.
I will remember this when I get the urge for kittens again....

Well you can just send Ciel and her babies straight to me, I will take care from now on if you want  In the past with fosters, I had to wake up every 3 hours to bottle feed them. There were 6 kittens in the litter, which was certainly is no walk in the park! In around 2 weeks or so, they'll start weaning, which will help make things a bit easier....Now to that kitten urge. When you have a chance, or once all of their eyes open, updated photos would be divine :Adore:

LOL thank goodness for all my Sphynx Lair friends! Thank you everyone. I feel so much better when I can come in here and read words of advice and encouragement. I think we are going to make it now. I do believe after flipping kittens around and looking at them that I have two boys ( the larger ones) and two females. They are developing markings so I can tell them apart now. I never knew babies growled and purred. They are so darn cute.
