I have fantastic news! He was found! While I was grocery shopping I got a call ( i feel bad i didn't get her name) She told me she found him in the middle of the street when she was getting home at 12am. I have been so frantic, There were sightings of coyotes near my home so I have been having the worst thoughts. I am ever so thankful he came home to me scratch free. Also the very kind lady gave him a bath. Thank you all for your very kind words. <3 I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

My Fluffy once escaped after I had been on vacation and my mom babysat her. She LOVES LOVES LOVES LOVES my mom, and she normally wakes me up and that morning I did not hear her and got worried. I got up and could not find her at 0600. So, I got up and looked more, nothing, so I started to check around the house and outside and she still did not answer. So I went around the neighborhood with treats, etc...the whole deal. Then I panicked like everyone does, and called the shelter and there was a message to call animal cpntrol, so I called them, and their answer, call the shelter back and they had an emergency number. I called them and told them I had a feeling my sphynx got out, and they said, "What color sphynx?" and I said, grey...and they said, someone just turned one in! And then they said, "Do you have ID for her?" and I said, actually she has a photo ID, she is a therapy cat...where did you find her? She was found one street over by a lady driving to work. She was walking down the middle of the road like she belonged there. The lady opened her car and Fluffy got right in (because we go everywhere in the car). So I sped down there and picked her up even though the shelter didnt officially open until noon. They had an emergency enterance they let me in. Later, I discovered she had pushed apart a screen and made a little hole to jump out of. I think she was getting out to go look for my mom.

We took a break from taking walks outside for awhile, and in addition, we got her a collar with a nametage and ID information that she wears ALL of the time, not just to pet therapy.

Have you tried your local animal control? Is Dobby microchipped? Fluffy was not microchipped at the time.

I was very lucky and the answer the lady gave me was exactly what you said, she knew that the breed was special and that they needed taken care of. Also, she said, clearly Fluffy was not an outdoor cat, because she was walking down the middle of the road, just sauntering like she was out for an every day walk, just casually walking like she belonged there and it was her road, and then secondly, she opened the door and Fluff jumped right in (not to scare you that Dobby would jump into someone's car).

Your last paragraph sounds just like how he was found! The kind woman said he was the most friendliest cat she has ever met. I am scheduling an vet appointment to get him microchipped! Curious i have been thinking about registering him as a therapy cat. How did you go about it?

@deanna , wonderful news Dobby is home safe ! Blesses to the kind, honest woman who found him..
No more incredible journeys Dobby!

We have ours microchipped with Homeagain brand like the company because. It is very easy to setup your pets profile and pic page. They also have an email alert system and some other perks --
I like getting the emails of pets lost in my area - actual got a dog reunited a few months ago.

My older pets have Avid microchips which are great too-

I just prefer the user friendly and perks with homeagain -
**You don't have to repay annual renewal even though they send expired alerts - unless you want the travel insurance etc-I called and verified this )

I check scan their chips on each vet visit too -

You can call once a year too for refrigerator magnets with your pets info
( I actually called around for a vet that uses Homeagain- sometimes they run specials too

***Please always call the chip company and make sure the pet info is registered -and correct -
This is a separate fee than the microchip - so,e vets include it in the special - others tell you you have to pay to the company yourself separately ***

Years ago I worked animal control -** so many pets had microchips not registered or up to date info-
I even scanned sick, injured, even deceased pets to get back to their owners for closure too.

Sounds like Dobby would do great in pet therapy!
I am sure larians will chime in about it with information!

This makes me happy, thank God! I'm sure Dobby is going to be very spoiled in the next days.

Oh yes plenty of freeze dried shrimp and gave him a few bites of my mac n cheese! :p He is back to wearing his collar that has a bell so i know where he is 24/7. This morning when he was sleeping i was a paranoid and called out for him and he was sleeping in a puppy kennel lol.

So glad you found him!
That's my biggest worry atm, that Pixie gets out and either gets lost or locked in at some neighbors house (she is NOSY) or *shudder* runs into a fox.

We have the Home Again chips too. Also....there IS a tracking chip that goes on their collars! They are called Tile! There are a few others brands too, as the Tile is a bit big, they were just on sale on WOOT.com yesterday! You can put them on your smart phone.

A year ago, my house was broken into quite badly, and since then, I have upped the security around my home 10x, and I have a motion sensor about 20 feet from my house, so when I am sleeping, it will go off. I also use it when the kitties are out for a walk, I put it out there with us so when Fluffy gets towards the middle of the driveway, it beeps loudly outside with us and she knows to turn around because I will yell at her.

I am so glad to hear that he is safe! I always find posts like this so upsetting and I have been praying for his safe return. Microchips are a great invention. It is so easy to make a little mistake and let these curious little guys escape. I once lost Frida in my house and was in a state of complete panic. Turned out she was sleeping in her cat tunnel, but I thought it was the end of the world. I can't even imagine how you felt.

YAY!!! This is awesome news! I know the panic of searching for a missing baby & unfortunately I know the heartache of them never returning. So glad he is home safe with you!
