Raphael had her echocardiogram appointment this morning. She did well with the help of drugs to keep her relaxed.
I asked if I could go in and they said yes. It was super interesting watching the screen and seeing her heart. I didn’t know what I was looking at but I was able to ask questions. They also do a recording of the heart. My vet will get a full report when the cardiologist has had a chance to look at everything. I was able to pet her ears and look her in the eyes while the assistant to the technician held her down. She basically looked like a rodeo cow with her legs being held together lol. She squirmed a bit but the assistant had a pretty good hold on her. Firm yet gentle.
A few things the technician said while doing the exam….there was no fluid around the heart and no blood clots. He also said that it looked good enough that we might not have to do this for another year instead of six months but he was quick to say it also depends on what the Cardiologist says. He pointed to a part of the heart and said “there is the culprit” but I didn’t know what I was looking at.
We are home now, cuddling and relaxing. I am doing the best I can as a pet parent and will love her every day and enjoy our moments together.
