I think they're like a bag of Potato chips, once you've had a taste, you will want more! Also they are like having tumors sometimes lol except they leave once in a while to play and eat, and poop

In my experience hairless animals are much more human-oriented than their hairy relatives. I have peterbalds, chinese cresteds and skinny pigs (hairless guinea pigs) and all of them are much more focussed on their humans than hairy animals. Perhaps it's coincidence - although I doubt it.. I've had orientals and siamese for a long time and although they are very human-focussed too, peterbalds are even more focussed, plus their personality is even friendlier IMO. :Laugh: As soon as I sit down on the couch, I'm covered in dogs and cats. All want to sit as close as possible to me.

I want a SKINNY PIG... OMG!!!! SO CUTE!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry :-( I really can't imagine not having a Sphynx to share my day with. It must be so difficult for you. Will you be getting another- or several more soon?

After Tanker died in 2008, my hubby begged me not to get any more pets. We have a household of rescued pets with various issues...2 labs, 4 DSHs, 3 Guinea pigs and a parakeet...that put a drain on our time and finances.

None of our other pets are like our Sphynx were. I wasn't prepared for missing their personalities so much. I joined SL after of lurking for a while because I like to look at the pictures and read the stories. Creepy I know but I like to think of it as therapy.

I am certain I will have another Sphynx someday....just waiting for the right time and the right fit.

I'd say:
Sphynxes aren't cats, they're companions. Anyone who thinks that cats don't show the same loyalty or affection as dogs hasn't met a Sphynx. They come running when the front door opens, they freak out calling for you when they wake up and find themselves alone in a room, and they need as much skin to skin contact as they can possibly get. It's impossible not to love them when you see the adoring look they constantly bestow on you.

My first Sphynx Anubis, whom we lost to HCM in April, taught us that life without a Sphynx in the house just isn't worth living. We miss him very much, but we have three others to help make it a little less painful.

Well said. Once you lose your Sphynx love - your world is not the same and becomes lifeless.

When Keeka passed I started getting into kitty porn. I was spending hours on the internet getting my fill of naked cats. That's all I could think about was NAKED CATS with blue eyes, NAKED CATS with gold eyes, pink NAKED CATS, blue NAKED CATS.....oops ...I am obsessed.:Laugh:
