Here's the latest update from Kirsti:

I just gave her the first of the sib-q fluids. Jamming a needle in a cat's back is new to me, and I was so nervous!

But she is so sweet. She just laid there and purred and ease Matt and I through the process.

We are taking over the vet's work: fluids, medications, etc. We take her in a week from now to see how she is doing blood-work-wise.


I've asked about her labs, and suggested Kirsti request a BP check. Haven't heard back as to whether that's been done yet.

Just want you all to know that Lilo went to the Rainbow Bridge a couple of days ago. Her mama is heartbroken, but relieved that Lilo is no longer in pain.

I am so sorry for Lilo's mommy--Lilo is in the arms of God now--in a place where there is no more pain and no more suffering. But for those that remain, the pain continues. My deepest sympathy for Lilo's mommy. Rest in peace little Lilo. You were loved and that is everything. Praying for peace for her mommy.

I just read your original post, and your update. My heart goes out to your friend, and to little Lilo. I hope Kirsti knows she gave Lilo the best gift, love when she was thriving, and also the care and support when she was sick and eventually passed on. I truly believe our "furry" ones are around us forever, watching over us and feeling our love even from beyond. I'll be thinking loving thoughts for your dear friend and her Lilo.
