Do you make special food treats for the holiday? We adopted our very first cats from a friend on Thanksgiving night. We always considered Tuffy our Thanksgiving cat. Who knew it wasnt good for them in those days….she loved turkey for the 19 years she lived.

I make a square called Nanaimo Bars. They are a Canadian recipe. My nieces love them. We also cook Turkey on Thanksgiving. My kitty didn’t really like human food when she was alive. She would eat the occasional piece of cheese. She would sit on my shoulder as I prepared food and I would hold everything up for her to sniff while I was chopping. I sure miss her! But I’m excited to get my new kitties in November.

Holiday sounds like such fun. We’ve never had shoulder surfers while cooking. This last batch of domestic and Sphynx cats have all been dedicated cat food eaters. Somewhere along the line we were told turkey was not good for even the captured ferals before them and we stopped sharing Thanksgiving. I just looked it up. Turkey is ok if you give breast with no bones and not cooked with garlic or onions. We got Toni in part because she was so food persistent….she is so uninterested…but in those days she only got dry. I can only imagine how exciting it is to await your kittens!!!!
