Hello everyone - I desperately need your help…… we have 6 sphynix cats and they have bowel movement issues. 2 of them have no issues adjusting. I put them on prescription hill diet, Small, and N&D. They all had tested for parasites and other stuffs, all are negative. So I’m so frustrated, I would love for them to have Normal bowel movements and no more of this. Any advices and what foods should I put them on, I would appreciate very much. Thanks

Did your vet discuss the chance of Giardia? About 50%of the time the test comes back false negative. Some vets still say to treat for it just to cover all bases. Having all 6 with issues makes mean lean toward a parasitic issue and not an allergy. You might also get a second opinion.

@Susie S ,I feel for you... been there... so sorry for the poo issues. some vets put on metronidazole in case false negative on giardia test. members will surely chime in.
sharing, My crew of 5 kittles had poo issues that was related to food.
I did try the N/D and my kittles n pups many years ago, they could not handle it. diarrhea, blood in stool, Orijen and Acana same issues. I was soo frustrated.
for my crew many years ago I made a switch to Nutrisource cat and kitten food for my crew and never looked back. no recalls, I free feed and all solid stool. it is touted for gut health. apx 34 for a 16 lb bag . mine are ages 8 -11 and doing great on it for years. my moms fussy kitty switched over to it too. ate it up right away

they also share hills urinary focus hairball formula in a separate bowl. (because one of mine who is 11 is a dry food addict)
I get the nutrisource kitten and cat food dry online, not sold in local big box stores. I buy at petflow or k9cuisine.( you can call and ask return policy if it did not work out).

My kitten was also struck the the dreaded giardia and another internal parasite, whilst sick we transferred him to hills science diet I/D wet food with pumpkin and I/D dry food and as well as medication for giardia, this food combination has worked and the pumpkin is awesome and our vet told us it cannot hurt to keep just a teaspoonful in his diet permanently.
