It's hard--- I knew I loved my furless fur baby-- but it never really sunk in as to how much now that I'm moving blankets to sit on my couch n remembering she's not there under the blankets to sit on... Or when I got home from work I walked over to her cat tree for kisses... Wow! Sphynx has stolen my heart for sure <3

They are keeping her over night at the vet. She has low white blood cells, and was dehydrated. They are doing a urinalysis right now (yay she peed!!) and keeping her on IV. Her X-ray showed she has gas--- but they are doing another one to make sure things are moving thru. No parvo, no liver, or anything big problems--- just that she's "fighting an infection" possibly an inflamed intestine. So it's a waiting game--- View attachment 19275

I'm glad that she's being cared for at the vet's office. I'm confused about one detail though: a high white blood count would mean she's got an infection somewhere, not a low white blood count.

I'm quite confused about that as well--- they said she's extremely low white blood count. And 6% "ban"(I believe) cell count.... "Immature cells" vet said that her body has nothing left to give to fight so she's sending immature cells to fight

Hmm? I wonder if it's related to giving birth (something with her uterus) or her mammary glands.

She just had "exploratory" surgery--- and they found:
Thread---- yards and yards of different colored string..... Little monster are all my sewing thread!!!
Multiple incisions because her intestines were so tightly wound together--- she is stable and should be coming home tomorrow.

OMG, I knew that she had eaten something! From the description you gave...it made me think that there was a blockage. I even asked you if you thought that she had eaten something that she shouldn't have!
Oh well, thank goodness the vet figured it out and took action. Otherwise he could have sent her home with meds to settle her stomach. Very lucky little girl. :)
She will be fine now. I'm so happy that it's not a life threatening ailment. Life will soon get back to normal. :)

I completely agree--- I thought she could have eaten something but wasn't 100% cuz I didn't see it! But u know sphynx lol if it fits they swallow or try to lol! I'm so relieved! My baby will be home tomorrow. I'm so happy my vet went ahead n did it. She is my angel money was a huge issue for us-- but the vet told me "I love ur girl she is the sweetest cat I've had in here for ages." And ended up cutting $840 off my bill!!!!! She saved my family! <3 I owe my vet big time! My skittles is going to survive because of my quick acting vet.

So glad things turned out ok! What a fright. These little stinkers, getting into stuff. I've said it before here, but Ickus once ate a threaded needle. I found it in his poo. It was a true miracle it went right through. I nearly died when I found it. I sew so I have to be SUPER vigilant and careful. I even hand baste now instead of using straight pins!
