Oh guys! I sent the adoption form and they said they dont give for adoption people who has not fixed pets. I have chihuahua, he is boy, 9 motnhs old. The best dog ever, so friendly, love to give kisses. We didnt fix him yet because think he is too young

Welcome, Marinka! I was in your shoes a year ago; I wanted a sphynx cat but couldn't justify the $1300-1500 price tag to buy one from a breeder. I was very fortunate to find an older rescue sphynx right here in my home state of Colorado just a couple of weeks after I started my search. However, even though she was a "rescue", she still wasn't free. Expect to pay anywhere between $200-$400 for a rescue sphynx or a sphynx needing to be rehomed (if someone offers you a sphynx cat for "free", be very wary!). Also, it may take some time, patience, and a little travel to be able to adopt a rescue or retired breeder.

Thank you so much for your support! Yeah, 200-400 thats pretty good price. I would prob be happy to find a cat 1 or 2 years old. How do you think is it really bad if cat had owners for so long and he/she was already used to one people and then now when someone adopt the cat and he/she has new people around? Did it take long for your kitty to get used to you?

Welcome! I was able to adopt a sphynx kitten for $400 I think it was from an animal rescue.

They are out there! =)

How do you think is it really bad if cat had owners for so long and he/she was already used to one people and then now when someone adopt the cat and he/she has new people around? To answer your question, my cat was 8 years old when I adopted her and unfortunately was passed around from one household to another (at least four that I know of!). However, when I first brought her home, she made herself right at home and settled in quickly...which I have to admit, amazed me! Sphynx cats are very adaptable that way! Piglet took to me right away. She also gets along well with my Siamese cats, whom I've had for many years. I don't think age matters when it comes to adopting sphynx cats....they seem to be more tolerant and adaptable than the average cat.

Welcome! I am new too. I lost my first sphynx at 6 years old (I think to HCM, but not positive). I was not aware of the need to have these cats ultrasounded at that time. I recently got a new sphynx who is almost a year old. His breeder was not responsible and does not scan his cats either. I got very lucky that my cat is healthy as far as we know. I will find a clinic to get him HCM scanned at this year so I can give him proper treatment for a longer life if he has it. Good luck, I think you will find something. My cat was in your price range and I found several at rescues, but none near me. They all required meeting the adopter in person and would not ship. Please be aware of this breeds special needs before committing. They require bathing and ear cleaning. Also they are indoor only cats. Except for properly escorted outings They are much more adaptable to new cicumstances than regular cats, IMO. I don't think you would have trouble with an older cat settling right in. Both of mine have loved other animals as well.

I share your sadness in catlessness. I'm 15, and my mom won't let me have a cat. We already have 2 dogs, and in the past she's always taken care of my pets . But good luck in your search! I hope you don't have to stretch too far out of your price range, but if that's your only option, i'm sure it'll be worth it. These are truly majestic animals.

sydkat7 sounds like this breed are very adoptable to new homes and it doesn't matter how old they are as long as you treat them right and give them love, they will love back. Im excited and now not worry about older cat if I will find one to adopt.
Barrelstar Im sorry about your first one. Im sure he lived a very happy 6 years with you. No i need to read about HCM more to fully understand what it is. To give a bath and clean ears sounds like fun to me. Im a good "mommy" to my old cat that I left in Ukraine with my parents. Sadly I couldn't take her with me to the States because of her age. Good luck with your new cat. Hope she/he is healthy and will long happy life w you.
Wuahful Hey thanks so much! Well, when I was your age I had the same problems and the same conversations w my mom about how she and dad would going to take care of a cat if id want one, but I promissed Id take care of the cat, I begged and i got my Mila. She is 14 now and live w them cuz I moved from my home to the States after i got married. Even tho she is old I made my mom to make me promisse shell take her to docs and see if they let my parents to bring her here, depending on her health and if she can fly.
