Hi Firehillqueen!

I'm glad you found the Lair, it's a great place to be!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your first sphynxes but am so glad Tosca has someone like you to look after her now and a new playymate!!!

When we first got our rescue boy he was left on his own a lot of the time and had no idea how to play :Dizzy: with time and patience he has turned it around and is a devil for feet, string and boxes now!!

Good luck with the dieting and the new baby.

X

My new kitten on reserve. Hopefully I will be picking her up ASAP.
I don't have a name for her yet. I am sure something will come when I see her in person.

If this kitten looks like a twin to yalls I am in GREAT company! I am so looking forward to meeting friends from this forum. Everyone is so wonderful here. I feel so lucky to have found and joined this group.
, the breeder I am getting my little girl from, has been so wonderful and encouraging. I never expected such help in getting started in showing. Today She has made me an offer I can not pass up. This is the male I will be getting too.

Look at this face and tell me how I could pass him up?

Welcome.

Sorry for your loss and Tosca is adorable. Remember to google the cattery and look for complaints before you buy (especially for health issues if you've lost a baby.)

Oh my goodness, such beautiful babies!

I have a soft spot for pointed. Is your boy considered a blue eyed white? Will you show him in Championship or Premier?

Oh believe me, I checked this breeder out throughly. I have been looking for another kitty, even before I lost my beloved Du, and have passed up several before I found these. I am so careful now.

Congrats
He looks like my Polar Bare except my boy is white with yellow eyes.
I looked at the breeders site.
Cute kittens on there.

I looked on the breeders site.
Her boy is a cream.
He looks like he might do well at the shows.
I love the pointed sphynx also.

I just found out that Tosca HATES other cats. To quote : Tosca will NOT tolerate new cats, it was a real issue for her in the past. She did not like sharing her home with other cats and it caused extreme stress for her. It increased her diet problems (weight), caused the skin conditions she was having which is also attributed to her weight gain. She was depressed and angry:
I did not know this when I adopted her. I am wondering what does this mean since I have already put down deposits for the seal point female and white male? I would hate to send poor Tosca into depression sine she is doing so well. I don't really want to re-home her since I wanted to give her a forever home. I know we have plenty of love and attention to go around.... but you can't reason with a cat and let them know that.
:Sweat:Would I have taken her with the knowledge before hand? Probably not, because I always planned to have more then one Sphynx. I want to do the best for her, but does that mean giving up on my dream to show? Any advice on this dilemma?

If you sincerely want to do what's best for her and you want to add other cats to your home, then it would be best that she went back to her rescue home and they can find her a forever home without other cats.

I'm 100% sure that the person you got her from would take her back and find her a suitable home. If other cats would stress Tosca out badly then its the best thing for her in this situation.

Poor Tocsa's right eye is watering steady. I don't know if she has had allergy issue before. I think I might have to take her to the vet to have it checked out.

I will take it into consideration on allowing her to be re-homed. I really really don't want to, but this is a wonderful precious cat who needs to be cherished. Its not just my decision since my husband is HER person.

Well if she's only suitable for a single cat household then there are only two options:
1) Keep her as your only cat and don't bring any others into your home if it stresses her out so badly.
2) let her be rehomed by the person you adopted her from, they know her and can find her a suitable forever home.

The runny eye could be from allergies, or an irritant or possibly a URI starting. Keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or doesn't stop then she will need eye drops/ ointment.

Counting down the days until I can go get my new kitties. Finished the new door on the kitty porch. Its all safe and secure now. It has a new high rise kitty tower and scratching posts and nail emery board to scratch. Put out a new kitty bed too and plenty of high places to lounge on. Of course they wont LIVE out there, there is a kitty door in the window so they can come and go as they want. I think they will like it as much as Du and Singe did. I am going over names.. but its impossible to pick a name without getting to know the babies.
