Hoping for Sphynx roommate in greater NY area

We recently lost both of our two 16 year old furry littermates and the roommates of my 7 year old female Sphynx, Toni. She sorely needs cat companionship. She keeps telling us this in so many words and actions. We think she is too old for a kitten companion or I would run out to buy one. We were rudely disappointed at the last moment on one adoption and not selected in another so far. I know it can take time, but Toni seems unhappy to wait. All help will be appreciated.

Thanks everyone. She worries me so much. Toni didnt sleep with us last night but hubby was sick so its probably best. It’s day by day. She went onto the window sill today. One step at a time. Hoping she is ok when we finally get home from my 2 after-work doctors’ appts.

Toni has been coming along. She and I have become closer and we have encouraged her into bed. I still think she needs a pal of her kind but I’m getting to know how to make her feel a bit enough better for her to stop crying. She only used to like hubby’s shoulders but now I’m an ok second choice. We have a couple of possibilities for her….maybe long shots but who can tell. We had one we thought definite and we all got hurt after it suddenly seemed a scam with all I should know…

As Toni sits on my knee past my bedtime when i get up at 3 tomorrow, I have a possibility I am not ready to share openly yet (superstitious). I’m rubbing my genie. Such a nice peaceful moment.

Meet Dottie. Toni’s new younger sister. Rescued from a pet sanctuary. We had interviewed for another from the same believed backyard breeder a few weeks ago. She was neutered Thursday. I believe she was used as a breeding cat. Now comes the delicate process of slow intros.

Toni is worn out. Dottie is in Foxy’s old hiding place. Absolute quiet except for my classical music. Damages=stuff thrown all over by climbing escapades. At least we all know the word no. Dottie got her name Oct 8 and seems to recognize it.

How did last night go? Dottie must already be feeling more confident of her surroundings.

When I took a nap at 4:30 last night Dottie snuggled next to my shoulder for the hour like she knew me forever. Just over 24 hours after she laid eyes on us. She went into her carrier with Toni’s pink blankie and slept after hubby programmed her feeder for her. Slept most of the night then found her spot near his feet in bed. Toni came and slept in my arms like before we lost Biscuit and Foxy. Dottie ate this morning and has been out and back to bed a few times. Toni under the red blankie on the furries favorite chair. Now in the window. Its sort of like we’ve been together forever.,.

So tonight Shel fed Toni in her automatic feeder first. Toni backed up but stayed in range and let Dottie eat her food. Shel make Dottie follow him to give her hers. It’s a conspiracy again.
